Nosferatu did good but that’s Nosferatu. The Northman was a colossal flop and lighthouse didn’t make much money either. Not saying Eggers can’t be a draw, but if he truly could sell off his name, he’d be able to do it without relying on classic movie monsters.

I think when I hear the term “box office draw”, I think someone who can make a hit off their name. I would go to a movie off Gore Verbinski or Brad Birds names but I know the vast majority of people don’t even know who those 2 are. Just the IPs they’ve worked on. And you selling $200m on your movie don’t mean s*** when it cost $150m to make it. Like the sales on it are just a result of marketing hype at that point. I’d say Leo sold OBAA far more than PTA for audiences but it obviously wasn’t enough
