He’s such a sucker for those like big punchlines, double entendres, little ‘hype’ lines, one liners. Not really sure how to describe it but he loves those. Lines no one irl would say but have aura and feel weighty and dramatic and fun to hear as the music swells and a scene ends. Always thought even beyond his scale and action sensibilities, that would’ve made him a good Bond director. He would’ve had bond dropping crazy bars

In that regard, it should go hard for The Odyssey since this is a mythological tale and it’s okay to have that style of dialogue. But the decision to do American styled dialogue just feels like we’re in for some huge cringe. Damon yelling “LETS GOO” or Holland going “my dad is coming home” is just really awkward. Pattinson sells tf outta that pining for daddy line but that’s a horrible line lmao. Gonna be hoping the movie isn’t just that s*** the whole time

Hopefully some critics address some of these concerns tomorrow

    Uh oh lmao.

Will fall to my knees at my independently owned and operated cafe with the New Yorker firmly grasped in one hand and my other hand clutching my (bio-degradable) cup of ethically sourced arabica beaned coffee with Oatmilk and a touch of vanilla flavoring if the reactions for this contain the words “Overwrought”, “dull”, “long-winded” and/or, the most horrifying descriptor of all, one that could bring legitimate tears to my eyes, “banal”.

The very essence of my being just couldn’t handle it. Not now, not ever.

Pretty sure this would be the first movie in history to beat the online hate campaign if it happened

Even movies like the last Jedi and Captain marvel aren’t respected by most people despite being profitable

Barbie popped a billion and was "woke" but made fun of the tax problems and stress of the creator of barbie that lead ot her death. that was kind of a pink washed limited view of feminism that had other non white characters in it too but made some odd decisions.

It's message was diluted by default due to the whole Mattel involvement so basically it has jester's privilege. I still like that it succeeded

Lmao what? Barbie wasn’t that long ago

There wasn’t even a hate campaign for Barbie

There was no 500k dislikes on their trailers. Yeah some people were hating on it but that’s normal for any movie

S*** I was hating on masters of the universe before it dropped

  • linking with elliot again was cool of nolan to do

tbh we don't actually know if those dislikes are even correct because the trackers people cite are often not accurate at all

I mean maybe the number isn’t accurate but considering how every comment on the trailers is hating hard, it’s obvious there’s a ton of dislikes and the number eclipses the likes
