The staggered release will undoubtedly hurt the critical reception domestically. UK press reception is overwhelmingly positive, I can see this having high 70s / low 80s RT score with a high average score.

I've been struggling with how to cover a movie like TENET, a film trying to get people back in theaters in the U.S. during a pandemic when experts say it's the last thing we should do. And, morally, at all endorsing or normalizing something I wouldn't do.
It’s naive to think that critics won’t be affected by the release in a still pretty bad situation domestically.

I don’t think they’re going to slam the movie though. It’s entirely possible to say this is an incredibly well made movie and then to also write in the article (even as a headline) to not see it right now

that has nothing to do with the movie itself...
humorless
like it's not a comedy my guy
streets calling this a DUD?
Reviews are seeming divisive
Hoping this isn’t another case of media outlets and blue tick film critics getting distracted by some sort of controversy instead of reviewing the actual film
