I think Paul is a brilliant writer, my favorite books in the Bible were written by him. But I question some of what he says about homosexuals being condemned and masturbation being a unique kind of sin
I don't necessarily disagree with him about masturbation, but it's weird how he speaks about love, being united in the spirit etc but then homosexuality is specifically condemned
@DaddyC I'd like to get your perspective on this too
Marriage was created by God and is supposed to be between a man and woman.(Mathew 19:4-6) When people talk about homosexual relationships being unnatural they're referring to the fact that humans were not made to function like that. Also just browse this page and you can see where Paul was coming from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pederasty

Where is this? It looks Armenian or Georgian
haghartsin monastery in armenia, in a province bordering georgia apparently
also found this crazy flag armenia used to rock

What's y'all take on swearing
Here are 2 precepts below
Sirach 23:7-9
7 Hear, O ye children, the discipline of the mouth: he that keepeth it shall never be taken in his lips.
8 The sinner shall be left in his foolishness: both the evil speaker and the proud shall fall thereby.
9 Accustom not thy mouth to swearing; neither use thyself to the naming of the Holy One.
Colossians 3:5-8
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Are yall thurr?
Yo have you seen this message from Darby? The 400 year prophecy is interesting and imo it’s no coincidence that we’re hit with a pandemic soon after our 400 year anniversary in America

Also this one
1 Corinthians 15:33
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

I thought in the first quote they're referring to swearing, as in taking false oaths and not the coarse language type?
What's y'all take on swearing
I try to keep it to a minimum in life. i try to avoid using it around older family members and always around the younger ones. When around the ones my age I tend to use it more I think partly because they do it so much.
Around friends and especially in text it can be bad tho
The people long for someone who BOTH points out the corruption and decadence of the modern world, and forgives everyone who has been hurt
People do not want to be judged or mocked, it only makes it worse
People want to hear someone say "you deserve more than that", and make sure no one gets hurt anymore
Did Jesus tell the disciples exactly what happened/what was said for moments when they weren't there or was it the holy spirit? For example, Matthew writes about Jesus being born and him being tempted by the devil in the desert with dialogue even. But how could he have known if he wasn't there
I also noticed how Deuteronomy is quoted by Jesus when he talks to the devil - did Matthew have access to these scriptures when he wrote his gospel?

Yessir
Yo, the moment people adhere to prophecy, the more upright believers will be during the last days.
The testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy Revelation 19:10.
When we learn prophecy, we learn the blueprint on how to build the House of David while tearing down the house of egypt, sodom and babylon.
If u can identity what Revelation calls Egypt, Sodom (Rev 11) and Babylon (Rev 17 & 18) you will be further ahead in your faith in Christ & can help others be delivered from this hell we’re experiencing.
Take whatcha know about whatcha know about those civilizations and do a comparative a***ysis on the modern civilizations we’re living in.

Yes. Jesus came in the volume of the book.
The Apostles had the knowledge as well because one, the Torah was their constitution and foundation of the government of God. 2nd, the prophets all described the upcoming Messiah. 3rd the most cited OT passage comes from the psalm of David, Psalm 110 where it says “The Lord Said to My Lord...” almost every Apostle, including Paul wrote of this passage describing Christ. Even Jesus cited it to confound the Pharisees.
It was only in Acts and forward (sans Revelation) did Christ have to explain to the disciples carnally. They had the Holy Spirit once Pentecost hit.
Lastly, the OT scrolls were available during the time of the Hellenization of Israel as explained in Luke 4:16-22. Also; every feast day represented Jesus, that’s another topic. Read John 8-9 and then Zechariah 14 for more insight.
Luke 4:16-22
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
