feel like the loudest preachers (e.g. Olsteen and others) have duped a lot of Christians and made them forget that God won't give you everything you desire.

God will care for us, but won't give us the riches we desire. Suffering is a part of life whether we like it or not (Book of Job shows us this)

Nah I'm "agnostic" or "theist" idk what to call myself, I don't worry about the labeling too much right now.

I grew up Christian but left as a teenager. Recently been doing a lot of reading on the Catholic church and Eastern Orthodox church. Both have beautiful traditions and far more fulfilling answers and doctrine compared to what I grew up with (baptist).

For now I'm a stubborn skeptic but we'll see if that changes as I keep learning.

That's part of it, but there is a seriousness around EO and Catholicism that can't be understated. Protestant theology is non-existent. With Catholicism, there's over 1000 years of literature I can study to strengthen my faith that I would ignore with Protestantism. EO is similar.
