Countering terrorism is one of the benefits of why china is doing this, but don't be mistaken, it is not the main reason, china has been doing this to minoritygroups that follow other religious beliefs that aren't as much "akin" to terrorism too.

The most influential are saudi arabia and pakistan, who both have trade deals with china (things have been heating up between india and china too, so another reason why pakistan wont condemn them.)
TBH, I don't think you and me are disagreeing about a lot actually, but you got to stop taking things at face value, rarely do any of thes countries truely do things for the betterment of the common people as they claim, there is always an underlying reason.

They both use information (or disinformation) to influence eachothers political spheres, part of this is trying to cause civil unrest.
The US, China and Russia are all doing it to eachother.
There's differences between these countries why they do it, but the methods are the same.
