Wrong and way overstated in the modern era with efforts by Fat Joe and them politiking with Lord Jamar n them in the 2010s

And hip-hop is still called black culture

You know why? Because the first few people in NY before the parties that made it a thing were mostly black teens and a few black adults trying to do music but their black schools music programs were cut and the funding overall for the schools academics were defunded which was literally targeted at low income black ny schools from the state at the time - which led to them sampling and DJ scratching since they didn't know and were PREVENTED by literal targeted state racism and classism from learning "proper" music and singing from instruments to choir and to even something as simple as learning to read sheet music that would only cost a few cents to print - HipHop/Rap's defining feature was BORN out of LITERAL TARGETED BLACK STRUGGLE

The fader on turn tables was made by DJ Jazzy Jeff, a black man, for hip-hop that became a super important staple in the genre from the get-go along with other genres like Electronic

Rapping as a style was already a thing in the West Coast with albums over bongos and guitars by blacks (and yes it's called Rap and Rapping in genre and was named on the albums as such in the 60s and early 70s) that was taken from Jamaicans and people in Funk, Soul freestyles (part of where the term FREESTYLE COMES FROM of "freestyling" your truth and at the black churches during music), Jazz and Slam Poetry - black, which NYs more focus on the Rapping part outside of the DJ and MCing was also inspired by Jamaicans there - blacks, and rhythms inspired by southern usa slaves - blacks

A few Hispanics helping out with the parties and the graffiti does not change this long history that leads to NY and that was already bubbling nor does it change the real contributions being from black people - there were also like two white dudes in NY (one of them iirc lived in the origin building too and was like the only white dude in the area) that helped in beginning but we don't credit hip-hop to white people neither and especially not at least wholesale - and none of this changes the fact that this is still overall and dubbed BLACK CULTURE at the end of the day and Latto is still BLACKER in her straight up literal DNA than a Hispanic can ever hope or critique to be which gives you no room to talk

• And even if this all wasn't true, or if it didn't matter, it doesn't give a Hispanic nobody an authority to play racial games with black people, one who just started saying nigga too, who is obviously getting way too comfortable and thinking he is actually black. Latto IS BLACK, is from one of the blackest and important areas for black people and even hip-hop called Atlanta, it's none of anyone's business especially non-black people how she conducts herself, no one outside of black people can truly know how black identity works nor the history, and just because she "acts more black" (which is another issue altogether that he is clearly signaling) doesn't mean s*** about her white side and this isn't even going into how black people are more accepting on average of mixed people (and this isn't even talking about how some black leaders and major political n civil rights figures were also gasps MIXED half black and white fighting for the improvement of the black community which no Hispanic is doing nor can even begin to understand LOL) than whites are and this leads back into the black identity and history understanding I just mentioned.

• Black people don't talk about the strife and conflicts between Brazilian and Mexicans, black people don't talk about the strife and conflicts of Cubans and Dominicans, black people don't talk about Hispanic identity or their own politics, and we don't talk about the origins or stake claim to their music even tho there are black Brazilians and black Spaniards involved in some of those as well

Bottom line is shut the f*** and mind your business on things that have nothing to do with you, and you don't have authority at all, you are an outsider in the race topic and lower on totem pole in the music genre's origin and I would slap the dog s*** out of y'all in real life talking crazy and be confused with the air - mind who's house you are in and mind who's conversation you have butted into
