i feel like bino leans on that as a crutch to never dedicate himself to solely being a musician. almost in the same way drake will never just make a rap album
like i said before. BTI is his most realized and even though AML sold a lot cause of redbone, is his biggest impact album ever. was the rollout for that album normal? NO. it had a LOT of artistic risks (screenplay, interactive website/blog, 2 short films, performance art interviews) but like it still was a tradtional album rollout with some non traditional executions
i just dont feel as if donald wants to fully dedicate himself to music in the way he did in that era, but it was also a time where he was trying to prove himself as a musician. i feel like he doesn't have that urge anymore and thats why his last album is a soundtrack for a movie that never exsisted. if anything i think he was really tryna kill childish gambino
