You see it, man.
low key always hated the original though looks so clearly staged, awkward & kinda incomprehensible what they were going for
she actually looks possessed or deranged in the alt cover. the pose, blood placement & modelling just way better to me
didnt have high hopes for this because i didnt like the lead single, but turns out thats the worst song here
another great pop album from charli
that being said, its nowhere near the level of HIFN or Pop 2 for me, but still a solid album nonetheless
Love your review brother, you got yourself a new follower
Love Yuck and Every Rule
But the rest feels like a dud to me. I have no problem with her going more in a 'normal' pop direction with the production, but the songwriting shouldn't have to become uninspired. Boom Clap and I Love It were mainstream pop songs but they were so much more memorable than this.
She definitely hasn't fallen off though, the next project will probably be back on the level of her last four
Semi irrelevant but will.i.am deserves far more respect and recognition for his massive influence on today's pop

https://twitter.com/charli_xcx/status/1388601162337685505will.i.am deserves respect for making American Boy alone. One of the best pop songs of the 2000s.
He obviously has other pop classics, but idk how well they've aged. I feel like they've lasted because they're so catchy but they sound like s*** compared to other pop rap of that era.
At the end of the day though just the amount of iconic pop he made though should put him on an elite level. Weirdly in the UK he is hyped up as some kind of futuristic genius even more than someone like Ye lol, but it seems in the US that in't the case. Partly it's because he's a coach on our version of the Voice

he made American Boy? wow.
he made American Boy? wow.
yeah he did just double checked to see if I'd imagined it lol.
He was the only producer on that song too
Sometimes you hear someone write or produce something so good for someone else and just wonder why they can't do that for themselves. Ik Black Eyed Peas had hits bigger than American Boy but that song has aged so much better than I Got a Feeling or Boom Boom Pow
I think she was always boring except 2-3 songs and this album proves it pretty well imo

Doesn’t really prove that, her other albums sound very different from this

I Gotta Feeling is timeless

I agree, it's a classic. But I think that's because of the song, the way it's produced/performed sounds super dated, annoying and s***ty to me lol
5/10, highly disagree but it is what it is
one of the few times i actually agree with him
This album is great imo. May not be on the same level as her other stuff but I'm enjoying it a lot.
