she was crashing out (pun intended) about sophie dying i feel like

they had a falling out before she died

she leaned into a more label friendly sound and tried doing the pop star dancing thing

used reference tracks for a few of the lead singles instead of writing them herself which is rare for her

i forgot she was using reference tracks back then i guess it fell in line with her original vision being that it was allegedly going to be her last album on Atlantic.

despite my feelings towards that album and era, i’m glad it happened. whether you see it as her reaching a new audience or putting a battery in her back to do better, it was a win at the end of the day

Atlantic always tried to push her to make Sucker 900 more times not realizing evolution is what makes iconic catalogs that age well

so many of the singles after Sucker you can find leaked demos with full SOPHIE or AG production that was stripped down by Stargate (Break The Rules) & The Invisible Men (Fancy, etc)

then I think she blamed herself for the songs not landing but they didn't land cause they replaced 90% of the production

I suspect this is part of the reason her and SOPHIE had a falling out, cause SOPHIE believed in her as is not what the label wanted but that's a guess

oh yeah im sure she meant it. i just thought their relationship was on the rocks and they were working through it during COVID…she was very candid about her feelings during this time

maybe it’s just stan brain or whatever, but he looked mentally checked out during HIFN era while she was being confessional in her songs. admittedly i haven’t seen the documentary so i’m probably just writing fan fiction in my head

that's correct they produced the final song, both are true

dylan brady made the beat the song was written on and is credited as a song writer for that fact, had nothing to do with the final beat so isn't credited as a producer
