Tbh outside of Marvin’s room, I hate when artists drop slow bpm music as singles. Save that s*** for the album and give us the higher tempo songs that we can get down to as singles, just common sense.

Sicko Mode is faster, danceable, has catchy lyrics, and is pretty easy to make a shorter radio edit of. All of those things work together to make the length and beat switches more approachable. It’s a very impressively written song that is a true lightning in a bottle moment that hasn’t been replicated since
SYO is slow, no real hook, and doesn’t have any of those songwriting tricks working for it. His fans just like it.
We’re both agreeing, all I’m saying is that Slime You Out’s initial chart position isn’t surprising at all, even with the basis of what the song is.
Literally any song Drake releases nowadays is guaranteed to debut within the Top 5. Lemon Pepper Freestyle is a 6 minute rap song and it debuted at #3.
A Drake & SZA record in 2023, no matter what it sounds like, was always guaranteed to debut super high
