Faith and AH are the absolute favourites on twitter/ig fanbases lol

Faith is not good. They need to replace it with Escape From LA

this is Kiss Land erasure and it's criminal. man talked about his d*** habits and disillusion with Hollywood the whole hour on AH. the writing and storytelling on Kiss Land is by far his most mature, creative, conceptual, vivid, ambitious

i'm being extra of course but yeah KL is his best

True but hardest to love and scared to live are two of his most sincere and remorseful songs.

Kissland and House of Balloons are his best records imo.
However it's the growth as an artist to me that shows on AH.
coming from someone who would cope with his pain from bad relationships by using d**** to someone who not only finding his true identity but realizing the lifestyle he was living was fake (Escape from L.A) or showing a different perspective on a relationship (Scared to live).

Until I Bleed Out is like the most undercooked song on the whole album to me. Especially coming after a f***ing motion picture like the title track.

Oh don’t get me wrong it’s immaculately produced, Illangelo deserves the praise he got for this track

It’s a good track, it just doesn’t hit me hard like a track like The Town or Escape From LA

scared to live is great, once he really gets into that bag he's gonna catch a couple of those generation-defining records. he has the power to do it now.

ok so more the content that makes the lyrics rather than the lyrics themselves. i can dig that. especially being a huge fan of someone who's so public. i haven't followed him like i used to but just from my experiences with other artists i imagine it's dope to be on the outside looking in on his life, and then he puts it to paper. that's a key part i'm missing.

that's so interesting. i would read the lyrics to AH and think homie was faded every time he stepped in the booth and just started freestyling

but from reading some other responses, i'm gathering the maturity stems from his reflection and growth as an individual (naturally as he gets older and deeper in the game). so that's dope

I think some of the writing on Kiss Land is a little too on the nose. For the most part it works, but there are instances where you feel like he tried too hard with his pen game to be poignant.

After Hours is definitely nowhere near as verbose, which sort of helps it feel a bit more genuine. There’s self reflection that feels real.

If you find a balance between the descriptive nature of Kiss Land and the genuine brevity of After Hours — you have yourself a lyrical masterpiece.

Kiss Land is not THAT good lyrically. let's stop pretending it's a lyrical masterpiece i sometimes even agree with some of the reviews that said the lyrics are cringeworthy at times.
Album is driven by amazing melodies, production, atmosphere nad visuals

few songs? maybe. as a whole? no way.
adaptation, love in the sky, the town are goated but there are verses on the album that are cringeworthy and they work only if you ignore them a bit

of course not, that's never been his strong suit. but in my opinion it seems less one-note content wise and a clear step above his other material in terms of songwriting. melodies and production factor into that

.......i'm not finna argue about that lmao

it's all subjective anyway. i've given enough criticism on AH in here I probably look like a hater to some of y'all. i'll only come back in when i have good things to say

it absolutely is that good though

I'd say the reason it didn't blow up like he wanted it to is due to its complexity

  • Aug 5, 2020

f*** all that, AH doesn't even come close to Kiss Land or Echoes of Silence lyrically.

it's still one of his best projects but the lyrics are pretty surface level, def more mature but not that intriguing

  • Aug 5, 2020

his delivery on AH also doesn't come close to Kiss Land

    two very different projects tbh
