what am i missing i feel like that song (and majority of the album) doesn't even come close to some of his best.

Personally I think it’s his most theatrical song since Professional and those theatrical type songs on KL and AH are my absolute favorite kind of songs from him tbh

Plus he sounds so vulnerable in the first half of it, and that whole “spaceship” sequence in the middle of it was absolutely mind boggling to listen to for the first time idk a lot of factors go into how much I like a song

I will say the second half of the track isn’t as good as the first for me, but the first half is strong enough for me where that’s okay

your follow up post was basically my thought except it gives me the opposite effect lol i'm vibing to the first part and the switch up sounds like it's about to be insane...then the 2nd half takes me completely outta the song.

Professional is one of my favs. listened to KL for the first time in a while over the weekend and still can't believe what he was able to achieve. i'm def gonna live with After Hours and see how it grows. even the people like me who haven't been too impressed with his post-KL material think it's next level. i'm tryna be back on the bandwagon wit y'all
