Seeing as y'all were on the topic of vocals, which album do y'all think has his best vocal performance throughout?

Starboy tbh. Secrets especially. He exercised his deeper voice a lot on that album.

Kiss Land is good too. Tears In The Rain is a GOAT vocal performance as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with this to an extent. I do miss that rawness that he used to have on previous work, but I think he’s matured as an artist. He’s still staying creative with his work and trying to still connect with his OG fan base. I’m sure he gets some sort of pressure from the label to get some hits on the album.

He grew a lot in plenty aspects and thats cool, his voice sounds even better and I love the maturity shown in the lyrics.

But everything has a downside and in this case, that label pressure aint good and i think Abel doesnt feel comfortable/confident enough to release raw music again. Thats why he turned majority of his "dark demos" into pop hits. Pop is digestible af

Cmn fam. Secrets not even has the best vocals in starboy. What about Die for you and Nothing without you? . He literally touching the sky with the high notes on those.

Now if we talkin tapes. HoB wins for me. The knowing and HoB/GtG has some of the best weeknd vocals. Not only in terms of tone ans scales, in emotion levels too. You can really feel what dude was going thru. Powerful vocals

Does anyone know if the 3 bonus tracks will be on the signed deluxe albums?

Cause all the features were ass and the songs are just zero effort pop trash

Of course, tracks such as As You Are, Angel, and Tell Your Friends(should’ve kept the Ye and Drake features tbh) are excluded from this notion.

honestly in my personal opinion the bad just far outweighs the good of that album, there’s only 3, maybe 4 on a good day cuts that i’ll still play, it’s the first album where he opted to drop cohesion and overall narrative/world building in favor of hits, (especially coming after kiss land which that’s what made that album so good) like honestly wtf is earned it doing on there lol. idk he just seemed so uninspired on there, in both writing and production, like it seemed to me he was only making it because he felt had to. overall just a big let down, too many forgettable tracks and honestly horrible features. what made kiss land (and trilogy but in a different way) so good wasn’t present on that record.

Listened to the album in full with 0 distractions, just straight feeling the music and I can comfortably say there's not a single song on here from the first song to the last bonus track that I dislike
