I’m offering my opinion of my album as I listen to it. Is that not what this thread was made for...?

Does aesthetic mean anything anymore.? If this album is just about the fact that he was making content with aesthetic and catchy bars. This chapter is done very well and Abel succeeded. Where is the problem with After hours as a weeknd album. No feature filler like BBTM also much less corniness like Losers with Labyrinth.

This album was a really big let down for me. As a huge weeknd fan. Some songs are the weeknds best to date, but some are pure garbage. Compared to his previous work the singles aren't as strong, not as hitting. I wish he'd do more R&B

because the aesthetic sucks. it's just a rip on joker and the "80's". The aesthetic for Kiss Land was much better and unique in its own lane

I came into this album with very high expectations, I LOVED the singles. I guess I was expecting more consistent energy? Not entirely sure, these are just first takes because I’m listening to the album for the first time. My opinion could change over time.

I wish he would do more ballads, or just songs that bring out his voice in general. Songs like scared to live and nothing compares were favorites because they bring his vocals forward in the mix.
