Saved for 4/14 songs.
Too "poppy" and uptempo production. I hate it.
The roll-out fooled me. Thought he would be back on his s***. Im disappointed now, after listening a few times.
If the album sounded like the 3 last songs, this would have been fire.
But where is the R&B? It is gone and been gone. Like just getting a slow joint is impossible. Like a What You Need or something.
Weeknd should never work with Max Martin again. S*** is trash.
I guess his music really aint for me anymore. But it has been this way for a couple of albums now. I will have to be happy with adding the couple of songs I like to my playlist with him, and then think less about it. It is what is.
Thats what I had. I dont care to a***yze it more.
This is such a terrible and generic “I miss the old weeknd” review
Hahaha can't believe people are f***ing with party's album. That s***s pure trash.
Even as I Party fan, I’m shocked to find that there’s people f***ing with it like that lol. Trash is bit excessive though
Im a huge weeknd fan, i hate all his albums apart from trilogy.
I love trilogy. Hey guys Trilogy is my jam.
I really hate this album because I wish it sounded like trilogy. Im a huge weeknd fan. I love trilogy.

I just said his music right now is not for me.
I like R&B and sorry for liking the music that made me like him more than his current super-stardom type music, huge budget and working with people like Max Martin.
The music doesnt sound bad, how could it with that many great producers and writers behind it, it is just not for me any more.
But I did end up adding 8 songs. FYI. And Im always happy getting new music to listen to. Im still a fan.

I ended up with 8 songs that I like after a few listens.
Too Late, Snowchild, Escape From LA, Heartless, Faith, Repeat After Me, After Hours and Until I Bleed Out.
I saved 14/14

I don’t understand why you would want an artist to stick to one sound over 10 years.
To each their own I guess. Glad you enjoy over half the album after that initial review lol

Thats not what I have said at all if you actually read what I write.
I have never said I wanted him to make the same record over and again. Trilogy is the most amazing s*** ever, or whatever you think of me.
Since BBTM there has kinda been a formula for his projects I feel. If I look at credits with who is behind it and listening to the music.
Im not saying the music is totally trash or it sounds bad. With that much money behind it and people involved it is hard to make complete trash. I still enjoy songs. I just dont think it is that great. This project or the last two before for that matter, not counting the EP. Which I really enjoyed.

There’s plenty of artist who have worked with Max Martin throughout their careers and they haven’t delivered yet.
This is a well crafted album and it’s obviously Abel’s vision.
Nope, not anymore. I dont consider him that. Especically when he is working with Max Martin on almost every record.
His music is not really R&B anymore. When he started out his sound and voice was very refreshing. He was different. Weeknd got a distinct voice, so you knows its him. Whether he is making R&B or pop. Thats why I think I still enjoy his music and songs. Even though, he is not making music "for me" anymore. There are bigger things at play as a super-star. More money. Accolades. Sales. Working with big producers and writers. Label s***. Fame. Everything with that. I cant knock it but we get some poor songs and forgettable music, my opinion, because of that. But some great records too, and I luckily still enjoy some it.
Maybe I just hold him to a really high standard because of the way I first discovered him. But then again thats on me and his music not being totally for me and others, that are like-minded and music heads like that.

I just dont like those songs or him in that bag, but then thats on me. I said he is not making music for me. But it is not because I like Trilogy so much or because I hate that he is a super-star now or that I want old Weeknd back and so on, like you and others wanted to point out. Make a mock of.
I just think some of these songs are lazy, poorly written, pretty boring and forgettable. Some of them also sound "over-produced", even though I hate that term, my opinion.
I will take the songs I enjoy and be happy with that from now on, like I been doing for the last couple of projects.
Since yall wanna quote a post from a week ago right after a first listen.
I made more posts, but maybe thats what I get when yall take one post out of context.

yeah, I also reckon i need to accept that his music isn't for me anymore, I'll always appreciate the visuals and aesthetics but i'd be lying to myself if i said his recent work moves me like it used to. and it has nothing to do with Trilogy. I loved Secrets and Die For You with Doc Mckinney for example, two of his greatest songs in my opinion.
what i find quite disappointing (and maybe i'm being controversial here), is that you have this gifted black man, with a very unique black soulful voice making predominantly white music, what the f*** is that all about?. I mean he's literally making Wham-esque 80's music and no one even dares to mention it, there's nothing wrong with experimenting and venturing into different genres (he did it with Doc Mckinney) but put some soul into it, some of your heritage, who you are. most of his out-put seems to be catered to white folks for the majority, unless its a pop/trap song.
I swear Max Martin used to make more "blacker" music for his white artists back in the day, with Abel it seems to be the opposite. I swear if i didn't know it was him on Save your tears i'd think it was Duran Duran.

I said to each their own. Why are you dragging this out? Enjoy the music you enjoy and interpret it the way want.
