ALSO the fact that Frank Dukes is credited on alone again and he was all over MDM
I think the first 5 tracks will be mdm type, 6 to 8 will be him turning into someone else, 9 to 14 will be him realizing what he has done and going back to being alone
In The Night was probably too lyrically deep to ever be a hit tbh
Don’t think your average listener would notice tbh
Well there was that interview with a CEO who said they were lining up the next single and it could be the biggest one.
However, I remember Abel saying before that he thought ‘In the Night’ was going to be bigger than CFMF and The Hills.
I can kind of see why he thought In The Night would be bigger than it actually was because it kind of has that MJ vibe, pop heavy, with a catchy chorus.

Why did y’all link that s***, now I’m overplaying it

The chorus was too dark and I’m surprised it made it to radio. This man is such a legend

I second this. It was very catchy, which along with some snazzy production, is all that's really needed to be a pop hit imo, but the underlying meaning of the lyrics probably went over most people's heads.
i need big quints reaction
Weeknd is like the only thing that gets him up to record now lol

It made it because it was vague enough for it to go over people's heads. People sing along to it and dont even know what hes talking about unless they figure it out

Moms and middle schooler singing about strippers crying
i wonder if abel does this intentionally to f*** with the dumb population. Man made the number 1 song of the decade about blowing lines
f***ing legend
I hope this will be good, I used to be a big fan of Abel but BBTM and Starboy lost me hella. This new single After Hours got me dancing around in my undies so hopefully this album will match the vibes and quality to that single

I know one thing for a fact if this album doesn’t impress me, I’m retiring from his music
I retired from the-dreams music and even Akon and t-pain I really hope I don’t do the same with him
