Yeah nah, the closest thing is that music sxn has “channels” where you can switch between pop, r&b, rock, etc but that’s just filtering out threads already in music

  • Feb 12, 2021

This is easily one of the longest times an album has been discussed on the internet. Crazy how with the tour on the second anniversary, this thread really might not die down until the third anniversary of the album

i never really discussed it in depth but after hours was my album of the year last year. what a fantastic, fresh, engaging album. every song, every music video etc worked hand in hand with one another, creating one true vision: an anthology that revolves around the multitude of feelings that one experiences in the after hours of the night. this album has managed to re-ignite the intrigue and wonder i once had when listening to his earlier works while managing to advance his pop sound. what an album.

After Hours title track is so well made, about time Abel focused on expanding his horizon to the next level, and taking the next step into music-making, touching medleys. About time. Now imagine him eventually doing a medley of short tracks, all flowing to each other beautifully like the side 2 medley of The Beatles' "Abbey Road" (you know, the sequence of songs from "You Never Give Me Your Money" to "The End").

I still think he has it in him to drop his magnum opus, to surpass at least once House Of Balloons; and if he decides to further challenge himself like Frank did with his discography, well, you know what Abel? By all means, be the artist remembered for his music that you want to be. As you said in that song "the more of you, the merrieeeerrrrrr"

And f***ing drop already The Birds interlude, Favourite One Night Stand, and the mixtapes in their original, high quality form. (2010 OG mp3s are good, but they came from the masters, so let the kids have the music, and as Ye said we're all gonna be dead 100 years from now)
