I’m pretty sure it’s Prince. Abel seems to be much more outspoken about his influences from Prince than MJ and tbh I do see more of Prince in him anyway.

I know I know we shouldn’t care about the Grammys cause they don’t speak for the culture, but...
Honestly, it makes me so upset and hurt that this album is being blackballed for some reason... This is the album that helped me through the first lockdown when I was stuck alone in a town where I knew nobody...
This is really one of the few highlights of this year that kept me from being depressed
I hope Abel knows how special this album was
