Hope I make it home
You'll be thinking of it
I got the whole city on my side, tonight, tonight
Watch us rock it out
Watch us leave the ground
After the show is done :pog:
You can take me to yours
But my lungs so muddy
I love the way it tastes
Drink it till I'm ugly baby
F*** me while I'm faded
Feel that through my denims
Baby girl, I gotcha
I'm only 21 so I do it when I wanna
Gone from the codeine, 'methazine, lean
Got me feelin' kinda weak
And it's kinda hard to breathe
But you're turning 23, so I'll f*** you if you need
In your birthday suit
I'ma give you what you fiend, oh
But I ain't taking off my black boots
I'm fallin'
Cause I'm numb from the neck down
I'm sorry
You won't know that I can't feel it
I can win a f***in' Oscar
By the way I f***in' hid it :word:
And you'll never f***in' know :elon:
I'll never f***in' show it :sixcards:
Except when I be wheezy from another cup of potion
Dirty Sprite toastin'
Fast life, f*** slow
Low life for life
you’re a king for these
My headphones finally came in
Guess what I’m listening to first
06) live for (ft_drake).mp3
Really need to roll to this album tbh, legit first thing imma do when I move out in January
Josh Safdie - "This whole album is like plugging into a degenerate HIFI system at a club at 5am. Love it."
Too Late, Faith & After Hours really really exemplify this quote, months later I know exactly what he was on about
My dream for Chapter 7 would be for Abel to go deeper into this sound
Abel is the master for making tracks that would tear up a dingy nightclub at 5am, yet also simultaneously sound as potent coming through your headphones alone in bed
I love the influence he's taken from dance music in the last few years

While I appreciate this, a part of me really wants him to do something different. I personally feel like he’s done all he can do with this sound.

I think my thirst for this sound is rooted in the fact that quite honestly, no one does it better than Abel does (within the parameters of mainstream music ofc)
I disagree personally, I think he could take this sound further, could incorporate more synth-wave into it, more techno, more electronic music. . . F*** he could even pull from more obscure dance genres such as acid house & trance
Although I love them now, on my first listen I heavily disliked In Your Eyes & Save Your Tears because they seemed to disrupt the murkiness of the project and felt shoe-horned in in order to appeal to radio
Got a lot of love for them now regardless, but I think crafting another smash pop-record is easy for Abel at this point, he's mastered it
I can only hope that the widespread positive reaction that After Hours (the song) garnered when it dropped will re-assure him that listeners are still very much down to support a more experimental sound
