Hey guys I just heard this album last weekend and it was amazing! My first album by him. Beautiful voice. However My sisters girlfriend told me to listen to the mixtapes to truly enjoy his music. I randomly picked Thursday as the first one and I just don’t understand a word he is saying. Is this guy not American? Sorry for my ignorance but how do I get into his older stuff. He pronounces words funny on Thursday and there is an 8 min song and I heard maybe a minute of it and If you told me he was speaking Chinese I would have believed you. I don’t like reading lyrics while listening to music, but why is his music so bizzare and foreign sounding compared to this album. Does he have normal songs like after hours album?

Because I honestly have a hard time understanding him. Like some songs it sounds like he’s speaking a different language. I love his voice but I don’t think his voice alone can keep my interest for 7 mins if I can’t understand what he is saying

Guess his older music just isn't for everybody. It's true that most of the songs are super long & sounds very different than what you're used to hearing

Hey guys I’m back after listening to beauty behind the madness. Here are my thoughts:

Real life- great song. 7/10 the sirens were obnoxious and outta place. Also my roommate burned half our apartment down so the sirens reminded me off smoke alarm and fire emergency sirens so I got ptsd

Loser- 7/10. Surprised this wasn’t a part of lion king. I can totally see some cheesy s*** like scar singing this to simba or some s***. Even the drums at the end was very lion king like

Tell your friends- 7/10. Very slow and boring. This was the first song tho where I could completely understand him tho so I gave it a 7

Often- 7/10. Good song. Nothing original. Trey songz could release the same song and prolly sound better

The hills- first time listening to this song. Heard the chorus many times before on edm genres. The verses sounded incomplete and recorded out of a flip phone. Chorus saves the song. 4/10

Acquainted- 10/10. Masterpiece

Cant feel myself- 1/10. Repetitive and boring

Shameless- 10/10. Beautiful

In the night- 8/10. Not bad

As you are- 6/10. Second half was beautiful, first half was snoozefest

Dark times- 4/10

Prisoner- 5/10 very cliche and corny

Angel- 6/10 very repetitive. The choir was very forced and corny. The random girl with two lines were not needed. Song could been 10/10 if it was 4 mins long

I have heard the chorus millions times but with an edm spin and had no idea who the original artist was. Never cared for the chorus so I didn’t even bother to find out who sang this

oh damn, my mdm take got heat :word:
well, i stand by the fact that it's not cohesive at all.
lyrics are all over the place, sonic environment isn't really as cohesive as Kiss Land or AH.
good f***ing music aside from that
