    where at? link

bro wants to hyperfocus on the wired article's wording and title and one band in particular, he hasnt mentioned that it was originally about a whole bunch of artists including his other darling jane remover. he puts forth this argument of yeah payola has always been the case and its just that for algorithm era, meanwhile his ENTIRE channel was built on the idea of the internet as a counter-mainstream medium presumably free of payola. obviously hes as mainstream of a figure as they get these days and the payola thing has been conveniently adapted to the internet but damn its not like he doesnt talk about it regularly anyways, just conveniently forgets his own line of thinking

and then he rhetorically asks stuff like what else these artists are supposed to do to get on the algorithm like dude i dont care! how does that change the facts at hand! you and other indie publications been crying about streaming farms forever. its one degree of separation from 'of course they used ai in their music, where are they supposed to get a real bassist!'

im probably the biggest fantano fan on here but hes completely dropped the ball on this

oh and god forbid this was about a band other than geese that he dislikes, he would be popping bottles left and right dancing on their grave

that ceo interview is f***ing terrible looks, NO ONE was on their side in the comments. noone said heey thank you for what youre doing with geese, everyone knew what was up off rip. and even the moderator was navigating that s*** because it sounded too close to comfort her being there on behalf of billboard which cannot just admit theyre getting their farming bots up for their certifications

I don’t even think they missing the point anymore, their minds have shifted to the modern terminology and ways of business. they’ve probably seen hundreds to thousands of artists daily get defeated by the algorithm and have ultimately compromised themselves into believing it’s just modern day marketing methods

idk about you, but making fake fan accounts I run to boost the impressions on my profile is no different than purchasing a bot. but for some reason in this context, it is, because there’s no other way to trigger the algorithm to fwu or make it notice you if you don’t consistently show it a certain number of impressions in a certain time frame every time you hit upload

it’s why Rocky hired a fan account to run AWGE Twitter page. why am I not to believe he just employed someone to sit at home all day and create 200 Rocky fanpages they run 8 hours a day and call it social media marketing, cause technically it’s not bots

nasty game we are in. crazy thing is, fans used to do this s*** for free and exchange funds with each other to boost their favorite artists sales with their own money! now they getting paid to create fan pages and earn a W-2 income as a social media marketer 😭

I watched that video and felt like he was attacking you specifically

My main takeaway from this whole situation is that it’s sad how priced out talented musicians with no money are. I will say with Geese, to his point I saw way more negative buzz towards them than positive and I think the polarizing nature of Cameron Winters lyrics and voice helped them really take over the algorithm on social media. I was already not engaging with random opinions online about bands and movies but now I will 100% ignore them. I’m glad ktt at least still exists and places like discord.

thats not good because he paints me as a conspiracy brained terminally online dumbass meanwhile people been saying something isnt right about cameron winter getting on snl all of a sudden and geese being the new 'propaganda they wont fall for,' on top of their new album being boring dime a dozen indie rock

i guess allat dont exist and its totes cool and awesome theyre buying up bots to advance their music career

how weak letting another man influence your taste, couldn't be me

  • i would never be influenced by or manipulated into what i listen to, that's why i listen to s*** solely by what an artist's audience is and don't actually think for myself

  • people on here are some of the biggest sheep to the algorithm more than your average non music nerd rap caviar listener, changing day to day what they like based off what is perceived as cool or corny on their algorithm lmfao

2023-post beef KTT2 was a treacherous place tho, hella users really wanted to believe in all these artists and that “hiphop is dead” and sadly kinda still do and probably choose to ignore this thread as ignorance is bliss or “okay they used s***ty tactics, but good music is good music and I wouldn’t have found them otherwise and I’m an honest supporter and fan! (even tho my tastes were manipulated for me to like this)”

    that s*** sad as f***

i remember i was at Utopia show, I asked this dude next to me what song he was excited for, he said sicko mode. i said what else? he said that’s about it. asked these dudes behind me what they were excited for, they said No Bystanders. i said oh bet, all these dudes are Astroworld fans, word. there was this girl next to us who knew every song and we would acknowledge each other while her man standing there not knowing a single song just vibing with the rest of us. when the songs for the dudes i talked to came on, we would look at each other and get hype for the length of the song then go back to our vibe enjoying the show

niggas be lame as f*** cause of how someone else likes that they also like lmfaooo
