I think his big problem is overthinking.

When he just drops verses and songs for fun hes amazing and raps like no one else

When it comes to albums it seems like he just cant commit anymore.

we want wholesome POSITIVE music chance! I guess this song KINDA keeps that same vibe, but man it’s just so corny when the other ones came off as entirely authentic and heartwarming

the singles he dropped leading up to this was like an amazing natural development of some of the best songs on the big day. this last track is like the WORST parts of the big day rolled up into one song. minus wife bars

I don't think the song is that bad either BUUUT it's definitely not as good as the singles he's dropped prior.

And maybe part of it is cause, nigga, I literally grew up on acoustic soul. you gonna sample video you need to do it right and it's just...eh, the production is just eh to me is all.

it has all the same problems big day songs had though. messy overly busy production, strange song structure that doesn't work, features thrown together in a way that doesn't fit their strengths aka smino, awkward hook. it's exactly like big day
