You realize the s*** you saying now about bad role models is the same s*** they said about Marvin Gaye in the 70s?

ok so this whole time instead of saying it isn't an expression you should say "I don't like this expression" dumbass

Hard to call it their expression when they probably didn’t even write it.

spoken like a man who doesn't get enough attention

males said the same things about khia and trina years ago but i find it interesting how nobody ever "criticizes" wayne for his 500 songs about eating p**** or every other rapper who's made a bad pun about getting head. nobody says they're seeking attention or using their sexuality in a harmful way. and WHY is that women have a responsibility to be hush hush about our sexuality but male rappers who've committed violent crimes are welcomed back onto the scene to make music that glorifies whatever s*** they've done?

One of the biggest criticisms of hip hop is the glorification of violence and disrespect toward women. Whatchu mean?

but i don't see what's wrong with it

by this point it's more guilt free than most of the content i've heard this year

are we really that uncomfortable with women being that explicit? and as someone's already said, she's an ex-stripper lol

Definitely not,I encourage Cardi B and Megan to express themselves it just that their the content is used at the frontline of rap. Yes,we need to empower women more but as a whole,Cardi B and Meg is selling an image,a fantasy. If were gonna pretend like their actually sending a message to women, let’s make sure it’s for all women, not just a certain type.

"they're just doing this for money"

    So?

I see that angle but Idk how to feel about artists who do insert action here just for money, always not sit right with me. Funny thing is when we'll start discrediting this êtes artists who do it just for money people will start crying that it's not fair, if they're selling out I don't want to hear them whine about being respected in their artistic field (this goes specifically for Nicki and her last album rollout shenigans)

He's raising interesting points but let's just troll...

His point would hold value if he had raised it about male rappers first

I never see men complain about ass and t*** in videos until it's women doing it for themselves.

It's way more popular male rappers then women who got b****es stripping in videos why not go at them at any point in the year then the once every few months we see women rappers do it for themselves?

There in lies the problem. The thought of rapping about college shouldn't enact that type of reaction.

Point is whether it's men or women, being a badass is what's being portrayed as the cool thing to be.

rap has an element of fantasy all the time tho.

of course it's going to be exaggerated, as most good music is, but this is probably more realistic than a lot of verses.

just seems odd that people like CeeLo have a problem with this but not all the other more extreme examples

Maybe you’re right. So should CeeLo be attacked for what he said since he does not like it too?

Let's look at this way: if female rappers was speaking on the same subject matter as the men they'd be getting hit with the "Not original, if I wanted to hear this I'd listen to guys" type s***. They found subject matter they enjoy speaking on and other people enjoy listening to, even if that may not include you. If that's the case and that's the way they make their money, while speaking on subjects that they're having fun with and make rapping not seem like just a job that they're obligated to do, then let them cook.
