I've been in the NYC area recently and I see what you're saying. I know that it's been tough especially there and I don't want to sound like I'm talking down on you. I completely get being super cautious still after you were the first ones hit, I was scared for you when it happened last year.
It's just that NYC is pretty much the last place in the country other than NJ and LA county that is still doing masking, distancing, etc. I live in an extremely liberal county and we're not doing that anymore. I'm just asking you to consider the context that where you are used to be what most of the country was doing but it's not like that now. I’m not saying we will forever have to social distance and mask, for his particular virus, I’m saying that the way the world sees viruses and responds to them will be forever influenced by this particular epidemic just as this one was influenced by the ones in the past. It’s just that our gen some how think this a one and done thing. Not speaking of you in particular
we won’t see the last of having to wear masks and lock downs for future virus which is bound to happen

In case anyone needs another example of media alarmism, look how they're phasing in "climate emergency" headlines. Not saying it's not a problem that needs to be addressed but it hasn't gotten fundamentally worse in the short time they've truly started to panic about it. Whatever drives clicks, drives clicks.

Jul 27, 2021plantsits really hilarious how I've been vaxxed for like 8 months. and for the last month (since my local health order dropped when we hit 60% vaxxed) I don't wear a mask when I shop, when i go to bars, when I entertain folks at my house, but I still bring it with me because why not? it's SUCH A GODDAMN F***ING NON ISSUE to slip one on for a moment if the situation calls for it or if someone asks you or w/e
I'm neither advocating for or condemning mask mandates. I'm out here shouting that it's so small it doesnt f***ing matter either way.

Hasn't been cold cold but rain and heat warning weather every other week so I'd say yes
I do get sinus sickness every now and then and it feels very similar
