The amount of people that have gotten vaccinated so far is about how many people get the flu shot every year and those numbers will keep going up
Not to mention natural immunity is a thing too
Like this s*** is gonna be a wrap very soon lmao
If things progress in such a way then possibly but for now caution is still required
don’t understand why this is such a debate
Being endemic doesnt mean we're never going back to normal
The plague literally still exists today
I'm hitting the bars no mask on the weekly now
Whole world gonna flood and burn on the 30s and 40s I'm having FUN right now ya feel me
I live in NYC man, COVID is continuously talked about here and the ways to prevent spreading is a big deal
Just because where you live don’t speak on the issue I guess doesn’t mean that the whole world forgot about last year. Idk what your point is really cause the fact COVID is never going away is exactly a reason why things not being normal again
I've been in the NYC area recently and I see what you're saying. I know that it's been tough especially there and I don't want to sound like I'm talking down on you. I completely get being super cautious still after you were the first ones hit, I was scared for you when it happened last year.
It's just that NYC is pretty much the last place in the country other than NJ and LA county that is still doing masking, distancing, etc. I live in an extremely liberal county and we're not doing that anymore. I'm just asking you to consider the context that where you are used to be what most of the country was doing but it's not like that now. Life has returned to normal in most places and will where you are soon enough as well.

let me explain what I mean by normal
I’m not saying we will forever have to social distance and mask, for his particular virus, I’m saying that the way the world sees viruses and responds to them will be forever influenced by this particular epidemic just as this one was influenced by the ones in the past. It’s just that our gen some how think this a one and done thing. Not speaking of you in particular
we won’t see the last of having to wear masks and lock downs for future virus which is bound to happen
In case anyone needs another example of media alarmism, look how they're phasing in "climate emergency" headlines. Not saying it's not a problem that needs to be addressed but it hasn't gotten fundamentally worse in the short time they've truly started to panic about it. Whatever drives clicks, drives clicks.

Appreciate the genuine reply & i understand things are getting better and has the potential to be a lot better
I just still believe we should be cautious of the fact only a year ago the whole world was shut down so we still need to be mindful of the future since we aren’t necessarily out of the woods yet
its really hilarious how I've been vaxxed for like 8 months. and for the last month (since my local health order dropped when we hit 60% vaxxed) I don't wear a mask when I shop, when i go to bars, when I entertain folks at my house, but I still bring it with me because why not? it's SUCH A GODDAMN F***ING NON ISSUE to slip one on for a moment if the situation calls for it or if someone asks you or w/e
I'm neither advocating for or condemning mask mandates. I'm out here shouting that it's so small it doesnt f***ing matter either way.
And somehow people still assuming I'm caping for endless mask mandates????
fr tho

You mean to tell me that MMM is engaging hyperbole and carefully constructing headlines to further push the masses in one way or another further causing divide

all about the clicks
they're a business, people don't seem to understand that lol
is there any metric rn for what defines a hot spot or will that be explained at 3pm est?
It’s crazy cause my whole stance was that it’s okay to be cautious and ppl out here thinking I’m trippen
Pandemic thread not going as fast as here so I apologize in advance if off topic

has the weather been changing alot for you?
Hasn't been cold cold but rain and heat warning weather every other week so I'd say yes
I do get sinus sickness every now and then and it feels very similar

I live in NYC as well. Masks have become pretty arbitrary.

Word, went home from work early today given I should have probably left the moment things started intensifying
Y'all act like this is a government mandated burqa. I don't wanna see y'all yuck mouth teeth and weak ass chins anyway
Ngl, I'd wear a government mandated shemagh

I felt fatigued for about 4 days and then i got tested and was told i was positive. Day 4 i lost my senses so i knew it was a wrap.

As long as they don't give me a scust camo green one I would too. I'd rock tf out of a red/black/green combo one tho
