You speak the truth but they ain’t ready

Fools would rather just respond with “smooth brain” or a dismissive smiley instead of facing the possibility that the media lied to them about this being way more deadly to the average young healthy person than it actually is

When the overwhelming majority of those deaths are old people, then yes I would say it’s an “old people disease” lol

Ok? But its still infecting other people and those other people can infect immuno compromised people and the rest of Americans

And even then we shouldn’t just see this as “sucks to be old lol” as if old people just need to deal with this disease and lack of protection if we opened s*** up again

Lol of course not but until we get a vaccine, there’s always going to be new cases

There’s always going to be people who defy the lockdown and spread it anyway, so why are businesses still closed?

ok so you think that young people can't get hurt by the virus? maybe they aren't dying as often as older people but you choose not to acknowledge that the virus can kill young people, that there is a possibility of unknown long term effects and that there is known lung damage the virus may cause?

I think it’s funny how normalized just editing someone’s take is. Then hiding behind “medical professionals”.

There are still cases where young and healthy people take a turn for the worst and deaths have been mitigated with the help of guidelines. Though I can see your point of old and those with health problems staying at home, at the end of the day, there’s a lot we don’t know yet about this virus

Obviously there have been some young people affected by it, I’m not saying those situations don’t exist I’m just saying it’s an exponentially smaller percentage compared to old people

Stop straw-manning me froggy I thought we were boys

I know like two dozen people in my age group that have gotten it and they just brushed it off. With the way the news is reporting about covid, you’d think it’s the modern bubonic plague and expect there to be giant piles of dead bodies stacked in the streets

That’s fair. I just wish vaccine trials didn’t take so long man.

i just dont understand the logic. it just seems youre cool with the possible deaths and health consequences (as long as it’s not you) to be able to go out like before?

and boys call eachother out on their s***

  • Aug 31, 2020

Even if you're young and dont die we dont know the long term effects, some people who got it have had symptoms for months

I don’t even like going to large gatherings or anything I’m just tired of the news absolutely ruining the mental health of the entire world and dividing us all even further

Also stress is horrible for our immune systems, kinda ironic the media isn’t promoting anything on boosting your immunity, losing weight, or just staying healthy in general (both physically and mentally)

i agree it would be a good idea to make coping mechanisms more popular

By absolutely destroying small businesses and further solidifying the amazon/walmart/corporate billionaire empires

By nearly doubling the suicide rate and crippling the mental health of the world's population for years to come

By f***ing over normal everyday people who are going bankrupt, can't pay rent, can't feed their kids because they're not even allowed to work

    I could go on

The freak-out over the virus in the beginning was understandable but after finding out there's a 99.8% survival rate, all this other s*** is just plain unnecessary

There have been 183k deaths and 6 million cases in the US. That's roughly a 97% survival rate.

Even if it was 99.8%, .2% of the US population is 600k. How is that not a big deal?

94% of those who died while being infected with COVID-19 had an underlying condition.

How does this in any way contradict what we've been told from the beginning of the pandemic? COVID-19 is most harmful to the elderly and those with underlying conditions.

The question we all have to ask ourselves in terms of personal risk is whether or not you have an underlying condition. Are you completely sure? When was the last time you even went to a doctor? A ton of people who died found out along the way that they had a heart defect.

And none of that accounts for the risk we could pose to others who may not be sure of their own risk level.

Don't be stupid. Take care of yourselves.
