watch the first few episodes and gave up, should probably get back on it

Episode 4 or 5 it really started clicking for me and the rest of the season was fantastic

I was skeptical at first but this is easily the best star wars media

still crazy how the CGI in this show is literally movie tier and better than all these other shows

Luthen really is willing to sacrifice someone without them knowing is brutal but goes to show he's determined to do whatever he can to pick apart the Empire

I wouldn't be surprised if he suffers for it or dies by the finale

It brought the heart that we all missed from the OG trilogy

Peak Star Wars

Beautiful cinematography (both in FX and camera work), great characters, fantastic acting, rewarding plotlines, inner Empire politics, early Rebellion building. It can be a bit of a slow burn at times, but if you're someone who can appreciate that then you're in for a good time.

If you're looking for star wars music it doesn't have it
star wars acting doesn't have it (necessarily in some spots)

That's pretty much all it doesn't have. Outside of those gripes I think it is trying to be a more mature take on Star Wars

Does it succeed? I think in some ways yes, but could benefit from a slightly more even pace, better characters, and more exciting action

Shame about the music but it sounds like it has similar political complexities to the prequels.

It's a lot more cogent here but a lot of the political discussions are largely over disputes of which we are never shown. Which is unfortunate because it covers a lot interesting ground with Mon Mothma especially

And her plotline carries into an EU story known as the Ghorman Massacre
