i think most people’s values are pretty firmly established at home from a young age for the most part and one might rediscover themselves as they age, which is probably what Drake went through in a public eye and now we here. but if that video at 22 talking to them girls about slang is how is he was feeling at 22 that’s pretty deep into age to pivot and it not be looked at like

The whole purpose of a rap beef is to explain why you are better than your opponent.

Not Like Us has everything to do with Kendrick claiming he is better than Drake, and has nothing to do with Kendrick claiming that he’s a savior of anything

honestly i forgot about that video and thats a good point. i might look at that video and think nothing of it, but for someone who grew up in that culture and used that slang etc you would probably see it as a slight and then when a switch up happens later it looks fake

i appreciate you explaining it all for real, i do think I understood that slavery is still something that has an impact today whether its living relatives or just the fact that black people historically didnt get to own homes which is a large part of generational wealth

sometimes i just get lost at the "if you're white you dont get an opinion on art" concept, especially if its coming from a place of genuine feedback and not a racial place
