It soon will be 🤫
🌀🧩
it has nothing to do with drake being half black, he's literally just suburban. half baked or not you can't compare that to Kendrick who actually grew up experiencing the things he raps about lol
Yeah he can be suburban corny asf and intensely cringe but that doesn’t mean he’s not one of us. Donald Glover
there's been a consistent decline in lyricism in mainstream rap imo
like if Drake and Kendrick retired today who can replace them that would be able to provide a beef like this?
the osamason and ken carson beef in 5 years gon be crazy
yeah but like, there are black canadians? is the debate that drake isnt black, or that he isnt black american?
the debate is that Drake was raised in a white household by a white mom. so while he did have the experience of growing up as a black boy due to his features, the way he was raised is way different to how he would have been raised if his mom was black and his dad was white
Couple things, Everyone was s***ting on Kendrick before Euphoria dropped and then Drake fans switched up to saying “Kendrick was always gonna win cause they wanted him to”
You also didn’t answer my question, Was Meek the underdog?
meek is different, he's a meme for how s***ty his music is, rapping like he ordering from mcdonalds drive thru
Which bars
I make music that electrify 'em, you make music that pacify 'em
I can double down on that line, but spare you this time, that's random acts of kindness
and dont pull the "oh you would only read into it that way if you believed he was a pedo" bullshit, these bars were literally spread on social media as "kendrick is going to call drake a pedo" and the genius caption also denotes this as a pedo diss
As a huge Drake fan if I go get a Mexican woman who lives in Mexico pregnant, and then the baby comes to live with me every summer
That nigga is still mexican, he goes through the mexican school system, lived the mexican experience
Will he have some black american influence? Of course, but hes still my lil mexican son
Huge Mexican Fan
man every drake/kendrick beef thread devolves into racial debate so quick
Because that’s a really important aspect of the beef and both of them played into it so, so much
yeah but like, there are black canadians? is the debate that drake isnt black, or that he isnt black american?
As a huge Drake fan it has always been that he isn't black American
nobody can argue his literal skin color
but black Americans and black Canadians live very different lives, doesn't make them bad, or worse, it's just not the same
the debate is that Drake was raised in a white household by a white mom. so while he did have the experience of growing up as a black boy due to his features, the way he was raised is way different to how he would have been raised if his mom was black and his dad was white
see im getting two different answers here now, hdf said its "black american" you're saying its "black"
im lost, im trying to genuinely understand honestly, before i get pulled into some racist s*** im not coming from a place of trying to prove you wrong, its just an aspect of it i dont fully understand and would like to
edit: sorry, i posted this before @Valentine edited their post, originally it was just the "white mom" portion
meek is different, he's a meme for how s***ty his music is, rapping like he ordering from mcdonalds drive thru
How old are you?
He wasn’t at the time, That was a result of the Drake beef
He's not even top 5 most streamed artist on Spotify right now. Drake is
Even Travis managed to outstream Kendrick during the height of the beef
Kendrick has only been the #1 topic of discussion when he went after Drake. Never was in the 14 years before that. People can be happy their fave managed to get some much desired attention, they can be happy that he gained a few spots in the all time list..
But history can't be erased. Thankfully so.
Discussion not obsessive listening
How old are you?
He wasn’t at the time, That was a result of the Drake beef
meek was a killer rapper before the drake beef, taking away from meek takes away from drakes win there as well
Yeah he can be suburban corny asf and intensely cringe but that doesn’t mean he’s not one of us. Donald Glover
As a huge Drake fan thats the difference tho
Donald was born and raised in Atlanta, yet he didn't change his corniness to try to fit in with black americans
Maybe as a child, but we all do that s*** as children, I was saggin for no reason in 4th grade
but this him, and the reason he is able to make a show like ATLANTA is because of his lived black experience in America
How old are you?
He wasn’t at the time, That was a result of the Drake beef
you tryna take me for dinner or somethin nigga wtf is you on
What are the odds of it not being true and carti told Kurrco and fak to hype it up just to promote the album?
Yeah he can be suburban corny asf and intensely cringe but that doesn’t mean he’s not one of us. Donald Glover
I agree but was Kendrick really saying differently? Seems like people took him saying "I hate the way you say nigga" as him saying Drake is not black but he likely just meant that nigga is not in Drake's everyday vernacular

always assumed not like us meant he was raised in a white Canadian household and not a black American household
meek was a killer rapper before the drake beef, taking away from meek takes away from drakes win there as well
Exactly
It was big because it was the biggest in the game vs a real street rapper who did actual battles
This guy can say "as a huge drake fan" before any post and it will make sense lol

As a huge Drake fan thats because everyone isnt gonna type out "black american" every time, they are assuming its implied
How old are you?
He wasn’t at the time, That was a result of the Drake beef
meek losing to drake at the time seemed dumb af
but looking back now drake was always a better rapper than meek pretty much
You don’t think Kendrick has been guilty of offering a sanitized image of black radicalism to the mainstream
