Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes," Drake told MTV News on Tuesday night before his show at S.O.B.'s. "We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye's music and appreciate it beyond. We searched the samples and we find out where his inspiration came from, because he has one of the best ears in music, period. He knows how to recognize great music that's not his. He knows how to utilize great sounds and great music. So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I'd even go as far as to say he's the most influential person as far as a musician that I'd ever had in my life."

    Drake never said that

Drake always said Kanye influenced him in general, Drake has always existed and made music before 808s

    Need @Vietbrah to confirm

Drake existed and made music before he got with Wayne too. So Wayne not a direct influence either?

I noticed a lot of people don’t even credit T Pain for making Autotune to prominent and influencing Wayne to use Autotune which influenced Ye to create 808s

A lot of these posters genuinely believe Ye birthed everything because they started listening to rap in 2010

Which is crazy because T-Pain was on f***ing Graduation singing the hook to Good Life in autotune. These Ye stans have a selective memory when it comes down to rap music (most of them aren't really rap fans). One nigga made a comment to me a while back talking how revolutionary Kanye was by rapping over sped up soul samples on CD and a few joints off LR, RZA was doing the sped up soul samples (and vastly superior to anything Kanye's made) before Kanye was making beats for Jay and RocaFella.
