At this point all these “AI Music isn’t so bad” threads seem like some guerrilla marketing psyop s***

I believe it. Joe Budden pod recently did a segment on AI music and im 100% convinced it was payola even though they weren't praising it like you said. They all do it under the guise of "woah this isn't that bad🤯🤯" which always translates to "isn't complete and utter dogshit"

    S*** is disgusting

You can’t tell me Joe Rogan saying “have you heard this AI 50 Cent song” to every guest isn’t by design

There’s a broader conversation to be had, like how people have celebrated mid for so long they have lowered the bar making it easier for AI music to breakthrough but niggas ain’t ready for that yet

Here’s the simplest, clearest explanation of why some people say “AI music is bad” — and also why that’s only partially true.

🧩 Why Many People Think AI Music Is Bad

    1. It feels soulless (lack of human intention)

People feel music is meaningful because a human chose every chord, lyric, and moment.
AI doesn’t have lived experience — it predicts patterns.
    So listeners feel like:

“Cool sound, but no emotion behind it.”

It’s not that the sound is bad — it’s that people crave authorship.

    2. It often copies style instead of creating style

Most AI models generate music by imitating past songs.
    So critics say it:
    • sounds derivative
    • lacks originality
    • feels like a pastiche instead of an artist

It’s like a really good impersonator, not a creator.

    3. Ethical issues ruin the vibe

A lot of people’s anger is about:
    • training on copyrighted music
    • stealing artist voices
    • recreating styles without permission

So the ethics bleed into the aesthetic judgment.

    4. It can be too clean

    AI music is often:
    • perfectly quantized
    • overly polished
    • predictable
    • with zero imperfections

But humans like imperfections—timing drift, vocal rasp, unintentional noise. AI can sound sterile.

    5. No personality / identity

    Artists aren’t just music. They’re:
    • their story
    • their face
    • their struggle
    • their influences
    • their personality
    • their brand

AI has no identity. People connect to the person, not the sound.

    6. People fear it, so they judge it harsher

Some people say it’s bad because they don’t want it replacing:
    • artists
    • jobs
    • culture
    • authenticity

So “AI music is bad” is partly a protective reflex.

🎵 But… AI music is not objectively bad

    Here’s the twist:

    AI music today is:
    • fast
    • high-quality
    • great for drafts and ideas
    • amazing for soundtracks, demos, or production inspiration

And a lot of people who say “AI music sucks” couldn’t even identify it in a blind test.

Often, what people truly mean is:

“AI music scares me because it challenges what ‘real art’ is.”

    🎤 The real question:

Would you say AI-generated beats are bad?
    Or AI voice clones?
Or do you mean fully AI-created songs with lyrics?

If you want, I can break down the criticisms by type of AI music (e.g., Suno vs Kits AI vs instrument-only vs voice models).

  • Nov 14, 2025

You talking bout like fully created AI artist that's is fully fictional?

I like music that has a purpose behind it that is related to the said artist such as even if it's the most simple thing - as do most people

I also like live shows - as do most people

And I like to see artist progression along with how it affects them - as do most

This is why I dislike AI music/art that goes beyond just a tool, same reason as do most people

AI full music is just sound waves in the air

The real threat of AI in music is the unboundedness of who can create an AI model

Op how would u feel if the biggest street rapper was an avatar that amalgamated all the traits of a real black person except its creator was some white mouth-breathing junior dev interning for UMG

Imagine all the kids listening to this super nigga and being influenced on some YB s***. The CIA would be taking victory laps at that point

  • Nov 14, 2025

After the early adopters move on niggas will still use that s*** but the divide will never be more clear of who’s in it for the art vs the commerce

On that note Imogen Heap u disappoint me 💔

Also, in general thoughts of full AI music:

I genuinely think fully AI music has a low ceiling and does not have wide appeal - outside of a song here or there

Full AI music cannot do interviews, cannot do live shows and cannot show progression

These are core tenants of what attached, involves and grows an artist outside of just sound

Especially in the modern day where social media is important, AI also cannot do that as in video posts, thought expression and LIVE STREAMS wether it's twitch or IG or YT

Its a gimmick that only blows away the same old people that were also blown away by Photoshop - and it only works once in a while on an individual song level that is the same level as background music

An album would be hard to work that is full AI fictional, and especially an "ARTIST" would be nearly impossible past a certain level without everything else that involves music

and in modern day live shows are even more popular than actual music songs or body of works, like how there's artists that don't sell that much but are super popular on tour, n tours make more money than music work itself, n even if those could be phased out - venues and ticket sellers have a strong connection to labels and businesses, even some have actual stakes n they wouldn't want to be significantly phased out and shut out

Interviews and touring is what I believe kills a serious or long lasting full fictional AI music and artists

Unless they really improve while cutting the cost down of hologram n physical robot technology with the AI persona within it that can do the shows, live streams and "interviews"
