Quality of the features plays a huge part too. Like why the f*** would I want to hear Coi Leray ?
Frank sliding on Slide
I feel like this album is gonna get unnecessarily s*** on because it doesnt have frank and itll never be able to replicate the vibes surrounding the first one. nostalgia is a powerful force.
especially the frank thing i've seen a bunch already. it's so whack lol they made ONE song together and niggas acting like they were in a band.
(Goes without saying the keyboards) Wow the electric bass guitar work & drum work, Calvin sounds like an actual whole studio session crew 😨
Rappers missed the boat to not ask him to do full projects.
No offense but Future & Young Thug should have pulled the trigger. Because there is NO ONE who they have that will equal to that level of production arrangement or instrumentation. He’s Organized Noize level. I don’t say that lightly
The sad thing is it is so transparent how tepid most rap production is when you listen to this in comparison.
If you want a viable comparison, I’m thinking of Dwele or Lucki Daye’s producer who has the same musicality & experience level. You can just tell listening to it.
Take the rhythm guitars for one. Niles Rodgers would give the thumbs up.
Pusha needs to grab Calvin to make a dark flight from VA to Miami opus. That’s my feeling from this.
coming into this without listening to the singles (obviously) and with low expectations and im not hating it
this is like the background music version where vol1 is forefront music

unfortunately im thinking this will be extremely forgettable but maybe ill come around on it.
everything about it is a tad slower than FWV1, sound isnt even really too similar. FW1 is pregame music, this is post game cool down stuff.
Haven’t been following this & didn’t even realized it dropped
Jorja Smith & Lil Durk an interesting collabo

Have you seen some of the studio videos he’s done of laying tracks? S***s fire. He’s so talented

!https://youtu.be/3KurQrv1Tuw!https://youtu.be/gQlKelwPX4Aman, him and jacob collier. studio mavens
Anyone at 300, Quality Control, TDE good music (that’s gonna hurt Mike’s feelings)
he should be hired to go work for new Deathrow for people like Mase & DPG
He’s proven it- i think i’m gonna do a remix anthology for him next week.
calvin still doesn’t want to do deluxe? what collabs didn’t make it? that’s what i want to know.
I can tell he made this s*** just to shut us niggas who been asking him for a part 2 cuz he put such little effort into this compared to vol 1...from the features to the redundant production it just sounds so forced. I don't get it cuz vol 1 every song from top to bottom sounded UNIQUE. You can't tell me "faking it" "Heatstroke" "cash out" sound similar. This wasn't a perfect album but man this really feels like he tried to copy the same formula from vol 1 and failed hard.
And I agree with whoever said weirdos are mad at this just cuz frank isn't on there smfh his fans are such losers
Yeah the instrumentation on this is still crazy. There’s still some songs I’m meh on, but those are mostly because of the features on those tracks. In terms of instrumentation & production I still think this is dope, and there’s several songs I’ll be coming back to often.
Obviously it’s not on Vol. 1 level but I think it’s pretty good overall. Gotta be outside to enjoy this one.
F***ers on the internet be like “Give us Vol. 2” then complain when he makes a Vol. 2
