You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige".

I’m sure they probably believe to some degree in what they are saying (or not, regardless) the main thing is they still see electoral politics as a realm to “win” by adopting the rhetoric and politicies of the ruling class in an attempt to leech off voters from other parties or gain more favor in whatever circles they run in
Not really attempting to build a long term movement for the masses just whatever preserves their short term interests. I don’t know much about Stein particularly but that’s a problem for slot of “left” parties in the west
