look at the steps of how the GOP ended up where it is if you trace the roots of things like the tea party movement up through post-2016 anti-neocon pseudo-populist rhetoric

at every stage there was a chance for the DNC to even inadvertently mirror that progression, they have done the complete opposite and all external interest groups and influences have always fallen in line with primary leadership at all virtually all levels

the anti-israel protests happening among democrat constituents are maybe the only movement in recent history from that constituency block to have material effect

noted. seems like more active organization is needed then.

It wasn’t but unfortunately a lot of people thought it was. That “Kamala is for they them” commercial did really well

Ok so he’s a dumbass like I said. Democrats dropping those pesky trans people isn’t a legitimate point when discussing how they can move more towards the wants of their constituents

I’m saying people are too caught up in the game of politics over an election that was simply a matter of morality and human decency

No election is simple and not everyone has the same values and everyone doesn't prioritize values the same

Kamala did not lose the district that Talib was in, it was not as high as a margin but still over 60% for her.

People shouldn’t have to be convinced to not vote for a racist, sexist, homophobic, fascist who is also a convicted felon. The inherit biases and prejudices of this country’s citizens are the problem.

People’s minds have been brainwashed by the facade of politics. This election was a simple question of human decency.

jesus christ dawg theyre f***ing you on this time and time and time and time again and you are still so unserious about it

I have not been following politics my entire life. im 25 going on 26, picked it up in 2015/16 like many others my age I imagine.

In that 8 years, the dems have been ALL OVER THE MAP, and I just dont think it's helped

they were for defund the police, then pumped more money into the cops

they were leaning to engage in convo of universal health care, then dropped it

they were anti wall, now they are semi trying to outflank the right on immigration and "law and order"

like they just need ANY semblance of an identity, and have big ticket items that they are actively trying to sell voters.

winning politricks is all about selling, and they are bad sellers.

all of these things i mention they were "for" i merely mean optically. idk if they had any intention of actually sticking to these things.

How can us, the people as a collective, actively sway the dem party to more align with our interests? beyond not voting cause that has shown to a degree that it will not change their minds on things

noted. seems like more active organization is needed then.

from a strategic point of view, democrats need a transformative figure that is actively antagonistic to the core basis of the party

people like Bernie, AOC, or the DSA (lol) are not really antagonistic toward the party enough to enact real change. they kind of walk the border of saying "radical" things vs the primary party line but they at the end of the day support the wider power structure of the party. saying a few things sometimes and then giving lip service to and/or having a few unpatterned votes doesn't really count for much

trump really came into the GOP and f***ing destroyed it from the top down. many people within the party now - regardless of what you or I think of them - like Kari Lake, etc. never would have been able to exist prior to 2016

Saying this when the other option is Donald Trump is genuine insanity

I understand he will also do horrific things to Palestine but my point isn’t “who’s worse”, it’s “what reason is there to vote for her” and this is coming from someone who voted for her if your whole campaign is “I’m not the other guy”, that isn’t really a campaign.
