I agree that they need to build up a new candidate.
The democratic establishment is hated by most non democrats and a sizeable chunk of democrats themselves.
If they don’t want to poison any future campaigns they need someone we don’t recognize and associate with the bullshit

Yeah that's a good idea. Trump rejuvenated the right because he was an outsider. Dems need to take notes, we're tired of the same establishment cronies. If they're smart invest in someone now and build them up to the next election. 2008 Obama and 2016 Trump hype was unprecedented and since this is Trump's last term (hopefully) both sides will have to pick fresh faces. It really is a toss up in 2028 unless Trump runs for a 3rd term (you know dumbass Republicans would happily vote for him again)

Dems might be straight controlled opposition atp.
Not working with more openly progressive members like Bernie or firmly taking more strong progressive positions may be beyond just incompetence.
I genuinely think it might be because they don't want to blow donors, who want nothing to really change.
But they need to say f*** it and just do it. Go more progressive. You are who you are; your base is left leaning, and you won’t appeal to them by not being left leaning too!
If you lose that corporation or billionaire money, make it up with donations from the people! Idk, do something! This “left but not too left ;)” thing isn’t working

    oh well obviously

I'm reading that substantial numbers of arabs and/or Muslims in swing states voted for Jill Stein, the only candidate being outspoken against genocide.

We're about to see post-9/11 tier racism making the greatest comeback known to man. Masks will fall. All that contempt and dehumanization fetish that's being been boiling inside the spirit of your American liberal is about to surface.

I wonder how long it’s going to take for us to get a truly progressive presidential nominee, someone who genuinely wants to change the system

It feels like a pipe dream

Bout to stock pile some vaccines for my daughter before RFK is put in the health department

I know this is a joke but you do know hes not anti vaccine in policy right? He and all of his familly is fully vaccinated and other than vaccines that prevent something extremely rare in kids like hep b, which he still thinks people shoudl get just at a different age and he supports people getting vaccinated?

Even if his thoughts on the dangers that vaccines can cause autism might be wrong, which he accepts. Virtually all of safety concerns he has are recognized by the manufacturers, except for the autism claim, which he even said he isn’t certain is caused by vaccines, but has an unidentified environmental cause, which is the same view as the leading autism experts, he just thinks vaccines should have a higher burden of safety. Which i mean is fine who doesnt want stricter testing for any medication.
He just has an hypothesis they are the cause, but knows there isnt enough evidence to prove that yet. He dismisses evidence against it too, which yeah is too bad.

His policy on it is a bit more complicated than people realize and isnt as radical as people realize. Even if his own suspicions about it, are radical. If that makes sense.

His overall health policy relating to stricter medication regulations, stricter food additive regulations and environmental regulations, in theory, are mostly common sense things people have been asking for for decades.

He’s probably wrong about some things, but the things he wants to change in government are all generally good things.

"Look at all the votes I've gotten from all these amazing people. In 2016 I got 62 million. In 2020 I got 74 million — way more than Hillary got in 2016. And now I'm only a couple thousand away from beating that again. Some very smart people, very very smart, are saying if you add em up, I've gotten three times as many votes as Hillary. It's true."

I know this is being satirical, but Hillary really really screwed the pooch

I think the “are you better off now than you were 4 years ago” line was probably the most effective from the Trump 2024 campaign

concise and gets to the real grievances ppl feel, without any of the MAGA cult baggage
