"Toll: I didn't actually finish Matrix. I was in Europe when COVID hit, and there were some health problems in my family and I basically removed myself from the process. The camera operator, a guy named Daniele Massaccesi, who I had met working on Wachowski movies and we became good friends, he's Italian and a fantastic operator. Like one of the best operators I've ever worked with. And he had done shots on a whole bunch of films, and I talked to Lana and I highly recommended Daniele to take over, which he did. And they just finished shooting. Daniele did the majority of the film. It worked out fantastically. He had become a really good friend, working on these other projects and literally was the best camera operator I've ever worked with in my life. He was better than I was, as a camera operator.
