I’m going to watch it cause
you'd prob enjoy it too. Anita has a wide range of films from romances, to movies that play with the idea of gender roles, to straight up wuxia / kung fu flicks she was one of a kind.
And Leslie's dramas are GOATed
I'm due for a rewatch of this whole franchise but idk if I'm ready to put myself through all that

A Michelle Yeoh movie about the multiverse.
Can't wait for the queen to show these new action stars how it's done.
I am in no place to judge this but i feel like they don't really make good comedy movies anymore

Pixar’s last 10 years hasn’t been as good as their 90s run and no one wants to admit it so when Lightyear drops people will pretend it’s good “ Pixar growing with us . We see captain America become an astronaut. “ but the truth is you fear you have loss that childhood joy so you need things to replace it with like a d*** to an addict from Ecanto to the classics . What if you lost your soul from now since you were a child. ? Did you sell it or was it taken from you ? Will you ever get it back
oh this is an easy truth to accept
This movie is legendary to me.

Rouge (1987) is a story about how a highly in demand courtesan, Fleur (played by Anita Mui) meets and falls in love with the heir to a successful pharmacy franchise named Chan (played by Leslie Cheung). Chan risks losing his family's support and his status by being with her, so they agree to a suicide pact so they could be together in the afterlife. When Fleur can't find Chan, she decides to return to the world of the living to find her lover.
The actors Anita and Leslie were best friends throughout their careers and Rouge was arguably one of the most iconic works for either star. The film was Anita’s passion project and it was Leslie who she had first envisioned in the role of Chan.
Leslie initially hadn’t been able to join the project because he had signed an exclusive contract with a different production company and so, another actor was brought in. But.. as the project became stuck in production hell, that actor eventually left the project and this once again made it possible for Leslie to re-enter the film.
After the previous actor left, Anita had insisted that only Leslie could play the role of Chan, and so fought tooth and nail to help get him on board. She made a deal with his company that if they let him do this film with her, she would do a film for their company, free of charge. This was a big deal because Anita herself was one of the most in-demand actresses and singers at the time, and it shows how much she valued Leslie not only as a friend but as an actor as well.
Rouge was an international and local success, winning six awards in from Hong Kong festival (including ones for Best Picture, Director and Actress) and a plethora of others in festivals all over the world.

Eerily, both Rouge's stars would pass away in 2003 with Leslie committing suicide & Anita dying of cervical cancer months after.
I hope they're doing good on the other side
damn, what a story
