No comedians always complained about stuff like that, there just wasn’t as many channels to complain
Crazy where people drew the line .
Ye been saying so much wild s*** but when he started with the Jews this is where everyone said NO
Should've been dropped that clown after "400 years of slavery sounds like a choice". It's funny and ironic now when we taken into account the damn near slave contracts he has chose to sign with Adidas, Gap, and Def Jam. Lotta projection from that nigga.
I don’t generally make the connection between Dave Chappelle and McCarthy without context clues.
Seems like a weird reach Brodie
Nah he has a point tbh. cancel culture existed back then it just didn’t have a name. S*** was lowkey worse than it is now because you had religious people trying to get s*** like Pokémon and Yugioh out the paint
Idk if you're trolling or not but you're readin straight from the alt-right playbook
Here's a YouTube Channel who made a series about it
!https://youtu.be/4xGawJIseNYThis is also a relevant read for right wing tactics

That's true, they tried cancelling Yugioh, glad that didnt work out

Crazy how there are a ton of Black men in entertainment who don't get attacked by the media. It's almost like if you don't say harmful s*** like Chappelle, or dumb ass s*** like Kanye does you get left alone.
We can talk about how media plays into painting Black men as monsters whenever one is unjustly killed by police. There's truth in that and I won't disagree with it. But it's also important to learn how to separate those Black men from the niggas who repeatedly do s*** that deserves them being called out for it.
Kanye isn't a victim of media targeting. He's an a****** coon who has been saying and doing stupid ass s*** for a minute, pretty much as a desperate attempt at getting more attention. He's on his own with the media "attacking" him.

And those people were also idiots
I have no idea why people find it so hard to ignore something if it offends you but has no material impact on your life
Seems like a way to lose Allies, and the only thing to get out of it is a smug sense of virtue and righteous indignation
I’d say it’s been cranked up to 11 tho, if you have time you should check out the book “So you’ve been publicly shamed” to see the revival of public shaming and the collective instinct to cancel others and how that’s been ramped up in the digital age
Explain Kendrick
The author of this article not understanding Auntie Diaries. Simple as that.
Even then he isn't even being attacked by the media. Nigga was just on SNL a week or two ago and has been doing a light press run for magazines where he has been receiving praise for his recent tour, and explaining the themes of Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.

People need to let go of celebrity idolization as soon as they can, no way this really needed to be a thinkpiece
Being inspired is cool but these are just human beings no better than anyone else

Idolize your parents not celebrities!

This was pretty much Kendrick's point on Mr. Morale the whole time. We're all human, we're hurt, we hurt. But there should be a place for reflection and healing.

People gotta learn to separate the art from the artist. These people became his heroes because of their art and the messages that stemmed from it which he interpreted as support for his opinions, not because he thought they were ‘nice’ people who actually shared his opinions.
I think people need to hear this again. I can’t believe they tryna call him transphobic
Nooooo you don't get it he said Terf so he wants trans women dead
Song is good and if you too sensitive to understand the very progressive meaning of the song, you have to stop being so reactionary. He’s talking about accepting his Trans family when everyone thought it was an oddity but still being insensitive to their struggles. Really great album man
I'm not offended at the song, I just know that a lot of people were mad about him using the f slur
Thug can be his hero
Grown men needing hereos kinda crazy i love the art but im not looking up to any of these people
You mean like Sen. McCarthy or Christian parents groups?
Yeah and it’s not smart to embrace the modern Tipper Gore’s dressed up in progressive sheep’s clothing.
