It is actually unbelievable the level of quality he gives us every year man. Every album could be argued as his best and he keeps getting better still like how !
What's your favorite Ka album? Mine is Days With Dr Yen Lo, which imo by far has the best production of his albums.
So f***ing in oh my god
it feels like it’s been no time at all since Cain. Omg and he said this year and next too, wonder if this one will be a producer collab before another solo... god damn we are unworthy
Bro I know, this is so soon 🥲
He’s about to drop another legit classic I can’t f***ing wait

Fr.. this is a once in a lifetime artist… my goat for sure

Orpheus vs the sirens or nights gambit
Don’t think he means he needs those to be further legitimated
Personally I wouldn’t mind him pushing towards more left field production. I could also live without any features tbh, but I’d be intrigued by any of those dudes.
Ka has literally only featured Roc and Citizen Cope on his solo
s*** (even tho that’s barely a feature lol)
Yeah, features is something he's never really done before. Would be interesting to see how that would sound. Though i love the last three projects is just been a majority of him and Animoss on the boards and him and Roc on the mic lol

Indeed.
And I'm on board with you re: production. I'm pretty sure Ka x Alc would be the greatest rap album
Yo @voyce you planning on going to Roc/Stove/Siifu at Sony Hall on the 22? I got a ticket to let go of if you want
I regret not getting orpheus vs the sirens on vinyl
'oh yea ill just get that yen lo later its not a big deal'

Might scoop that off you if Voyce doesn’t want it, whatd u pay for it

25 clams
Picked me up when I was at my lowest
Used to hardly could spell, now I'm held with the poets
That was all your doin'
Was filthy, you built me when I was all ruin
How you soaked me with compliments really helped out
Boasted all confidence in my self-doubt
Was dyin' from my thirst, you was clearly a well
It eventually made me empty, I was merely a shell
None observed, but was on the verge of crackin'
'Til you said I had a gift when you heard me rappin'
With your warm responses, I was taken aback
Former partners had me feelin' like what I was makin' was wack
Didn't offend me, saw somethin' in me I was blind to
Who knew to finish findin' me, I had to find you?
To close the thought, your support was life-savin'
Now death is minor, 'cause you got me livin' life major
I stayed forever, you make me better
Since birth, when hurt or sick, only person I see
Could write a play about strength on how you work in a week
Wanted to give you the world, I saw you here strugglin'
All praise to the Father, I had you here motherin'
Sorry for the times I was bellin' in my teens
But you know I had felon in my genes
Was bad man in badlands, chasin' desire
From viewin' what you went through, I learned grace under fire
Sayin' you proud of me, the sweetest words ever
Purest soul I know, moms, you deserve better
Whatever ailments, you nursed me back to health
Defend me even when the enemy is in fact myself
Showed me love when all I seen was hate
Said I was special, to impress you, wanted to be seen as great
This my kiss and thank you for the unconditional
And though I may not see you as much, I'm always missin' you
Sacrifice was our facts of life
Held me down when I needed it most
Whether a shoulder to cry on, or I needed the toast
And would never let me go it alone
Everybody called it the slum, but we know it as home
From where we from, we supposed to be thug
We both shared a different dream, we was closer than blood
Learned from you how to pour my heart in a song
Way ahead of your time, was just hard to get on
Ain't gon' lie, just wanted to buy houses for the fam'
Move 'em out the hood, give 'em thousands and some land
Them night sessions of eternal life lessons
That I still use today when I'm uptight, stressin'
Always said we was veteran survivors
And even though you passed, you'll forever be the livest
Was an honor to see you shine, I was blessed, son
'Cause in the end, as far as friends, you was the best one
Gave so much and behaved so clutch, I love
You sure about being an album? It could be an ep or just a song but I'm still really hyped

My fault, I’m down South for the rest of the summer!

Last single was 5 years ago, last EP was 7, and the current trend is full albums— plus he tweeted something similar for DoC. I’m optimistic for an album for sure
His songs are already outstanding from a writing perspective but when you read Ka’s lyrics in isolation it’s absolutely insane, I honestly think he’s on levels of poetry that we usually attribute to famous historical poets in this country. I don’t know how many rappers you can say this about. He could write poetry alone without the music and his stuff would still be praised

Left behind my childish ways
Deal in adult matters for petty pay
Work every day like there's no Sabbath from Flatbush
The crack push, get popped for 'lo fabrics
We bubble and shovel to the snow addicts
Porch archdiocese, each ave's its own parish
This my pulpit and I don't preach no bullshit
Want beginner's luck? Slim bub for the full flip
F*** the planning, we stuck the landing
Baggy clothes gladly tuck the cannon
Nothing diminish the business of the scrambling
Need spinach, we ain't finished till we handling
Never scraped the plate, ate it all
Wanna reach for the ceiling? Play the wall
We was boys on that back street
Don't sing it, better bring it, cause we pack heat
Dumb smelly in the underbelly, tryna break through
When slabs crush didn't have much, we made do
When heaters flying leave you lying, I stayed true
Might find at nighttime our lifeline debut
Curtains draw, dirt and poor become work today score
Person heard you snore on a tour? You get hurt for sure
Nimble creeping, simple greeting's words of war
A show of rough from "Yo what up?" Observe your door
Recruit a hard shooting guard, stay on point
They come for dinner, it's front and center, display long joint
Keep your wolf tickets, only cowards bought it
Here apes flex to take steps and power forward
None rival, my catalog's a slum bible
Not the right course, but with white horse, unbridled
In the 'Ville pumping steel, hunt until we feel full
Home cold as Poconos, fill rodent holes with steel wool
You capture your stature firing a full clip
We line the street beefin, tryna eat, dying for bullshit
With the toast erratic that roast your fabric
And friends if conflict ever ends, we post traumatic
Quote for better, wrote the letter, "Sincerely yours"
To heal the sores, where the real is forged
Pen fire, from Empire to Golden State
I write it loud, incite a crowd, then motivate
Couple infractions, scratching prose admitting it
On quiet track rewrite that for those illiterate
