How do you think Weeknd became a caricature of himself with After Hours and Dawn FM?
I think those two albums are very far removed from the idea that people had of Weeknd, especially Dawn which is why it received somewhat of a lukewarm reception among fans upon release
He's played up the idea of the Weeknd for show. The red suit, bandages, plastic surgery, movie references, and etc. all play into the toxic, broken man narrative. The music is different in sound, but not storytelling wise. A song like Heartless feels very self-aware, like if someone was to make their version of a Weeknd song and what they think he is. I feel as if Brent does a similar thing with his project.
That one video title “every Brent faiyaz song” or something is so on point
pretty girl at the party
I think some of the people in here saying negative things about the album would be praising it if Abel sang the exact same lyrics over these exact same beats
i need an album for the niggas from abel. i know he got a deep r&b bag he can get into. he's done it all in pop already.
kinda Wish he put Mercedes on there though honestly
Sooooo underrated and underappreciated song its sooo good
Coulda put it on there easily when he put some even older stuff on there
the only 20 track album I wouldn't have been mad at
I’ve been a Tyler fan from years ago, but his new style is so boring to me. I instantly recognized Tyler’s production on GRAVITY and that’s amazing, but his bunny hop-rapping is boring to me, wish he didn’t do vocals on the song. Anyone feels the same, or is this just me?

Ah right, that’s LACY on the guitar. I know for a fact Tyler coproduced this though.
@Faith I meant Tylers new style, the way he raps and flows. Do you like it?

Joe s***ted on the album on the pod
I remember years ago he was making fun of brent voice so I think he just dislikes brents sound in general. Parks tried to argue that but Joe said nah the songs are just bad. Played 3 of em to let the others hear how bad it was and they were like hmm this pretty good lmao
