Gotta come to peace he just aint topping this. And that’s ok, cause he was in a BAG on this song.
angel>>>>
also I hope he talks about the whole toxic thing more in the future
not only is it overexagerrated imo, I also wonder if it's something he decided to lean into more because everyone was talking about it or if his music would have took this turn regardless. or maybe a little of both?
either way, with him probably getting deeper into the mainstream after this project, I hope people finally start to recognize him for making different types of songs and not just stuff that is "toxic," it's one of the things about his music that I find appealing
I'm sayin!!!!!

https://twitter.com/brentfaiyaz/status/1545595257181458432key word: ENTERTAINMENT.
I don't understand why fans want their artists to live their lyrics so f***ing bad.
We need the Tre’less version of Addictions ngl

https://twitter.com/brentfaiyaz/status/1545595257181458432I find this very hard to believe when he’s clearly playing into the toxic character throughout this whole album through all the skits, lyrical content, and song titles like “Villain’s Theme”
A beat shoulda dropped i was so mad smh
Might’ve took away from how great it already it is, but I feel ya tho
These skits
Its 2022 man
I still can't get over the fact that he has a 5 minute skit on this. Definitely not playing "We Die Together" again.

Exactly
Bro could’ve just sung this story

His messaging is very confusing
Idk what wave he’s trying to jump on.

Reminiscent to Weeknd and how he became a caricature of himself for After Hours/Dawn FM. I think trying to use the lame twitter/tiktok discourse to his advantage (the billboards, intro, skits, etc.) and flip it on its head (?) a bit is genius, and it works for me. There's no super deep meaning, but it's cool to see him sort of break the 4th wall and almost laugh at the toxic talk.

Dawn fm and after hours are fantastic Albums.
I think I finally understand all the hate Brent Faiyaz would get after listening to this album.
S*** is...very forgettable. I've always known this nigga can't really sing, and he'd make it work for himself, there was some charm to it. To me at its best on that Lost EP he made. On here it's just so f***ing bland, uninspired. Chances are he went into it with low effort because lord knows that's his whole motif these days, and if he clearly doesn't care then why should I?
Overall I'm over the whole lame ass "bad boy" character he performing. And I'm just over the corny toxic R&B in general. Back in the day you used to have to be able to sing to make that s*** work. This nigga can't even do that, and he sounds bored af on this album. The only tracks I ended up liking are the singles and most these s***s like a year or two old smh I'm good on this bullshit bruh.

He definitely has leaned into the whole persona people created for him. And it's just played out in my opinion. Maybe that isn't fair because he's just giving people what they wanted, but I was waiting for some Lost EP vibes where he'd combine that slightly but also sing about some real ass s***. On this it's just...aight nigga you ain't s***, we got it. Anything else?

This pretty much sums it up.

How do you think Weeknd became a caricature of himself with After Hours and Dawn FM?
I think those two albums are very far removed from the idea that people had of Weeknd, especially Dawn which is why it received somewhat of a lukewarm reception among fans upon release
