Decent album tho, I wouldn't rate it a 5.9/6, more of a 7
The production is pretty good
The high pitched vocals at the start of jackie brown are so f***ing hard
And he STILL managed to fumble it by making the song a snooze
The songwriting on here is just sooo lacking, where are the HOOKS
Decent album tho, I wouldn't rate it a 5.9/6, more of a 7
The production is pretty good
Ratings things out of 6 is mad
the singles
role model
jackie brown
price of fame
rolling stone
thats it for me
decent listen
Ratings things out of 6 is mad
Lmao nah I meant I wouldn't rate it a 6 out of 10, like Pitchfork basically did (5.9, I just rounded it up to a 6)
More of a 7 out of 10 to me, but the production and the vocals carry the album for me
The lyrics and content like the skits are def lacking
pitchfork gave this a 5.9... Thoughts?
"The singer’s latest album is both overbearing and underbaked, smothering lovely vocals and intriguing ideas underneath blockbuster features and irritating interludes." - Pitchfork.
Sounds about right. Album is boring and shallow. Don't really feel the need to put it on repeat.
this broke my heart fr bc talk 2 u is so good
Sonder Son his best album no cap.
The RNB genre is holding on to its last threads and this album isn't helping.
Jackie Brown is only one I'll keep.
Decent album but he only hits one note so 16 songs of that and its a bit much. Can't believe there's actually a 5 mins skit there
I will never get over the s***moans at the end of Fight the Feeling smh. Who thinks that s*** is enjoyable to listen to for an album experience??
LMFAOOO you just threw me back to when i was riding with My little brother and we were VIBING to the song cuz its so f***ing good then at a red light all you hear is
Mmmm F***
Me and my brother looked at eachother like HUH????
Did that wish you well song ever drop?
Kinda surprised how much hate the album is getting here, especially the skits (they sound just like any other album skit to me).
I've been listening to Brent's music since like 2015 or 2016 when I stumbled upon 'No One Knows' on Soundcloud.
I can't really relate to his lifestyle, lyrics nor am I a fan of his personality/"toxic" persona but that was never what made me get into his music. I listen to him mainly for the melodies/R&B vibes, and that is (for the most part) what I've been getting ever since I became a fan. This album is no different.
Sure, some tracks or melodies can be underwhelming at times, but it's rare for me to like every single song on any album. I'm pleased with this album. It isn't more and it isn't less than I expected. It's simply Brent Faiyaz.

The increase of yes men in music overall is so apparent tbh.
Was that kissing? I heard a zipper so I think she was doin sum else
I think Tyler is a pretty boring guy in real life in the sense that he doesn’t live some extravagant life or have some wildly interesting perspective on things which is fine but I just don’t think he be having nothing to rap about fr. He had all that angst when he came up and had the “fuck the world” thing to rap about which work. But now that he’s older and we’re older, bruh don’t be keeping my interest with his perspective
This is true!!!
The high pitched vocals at the start of jackie brown are so f***ing hard
And he STILL managed to fumble it by making the song a snooze
The songwriting on here is just sooo lacking, where are the HOOKS
Yeah his songwriting makes for boring music, despite having some decent production.
