maybe it’s just me but i think i kinda expected a bit more from this after such long hiatus. saying i’m disappointed would be an overstatement but i really hoped he would give us 10 of his very best, personally don’t feel that way though.
still some gems on there. four seasons is my clear favorite, honestly an instant classic for me i was in awe listening to it. wrong faces is another highlight for me surely, amazing.
songs like pure fantasy & world is yours will have to click with me though, not sold on these yet. i felt the same way about strangers though and it really clicked with me yesterday, great song.

I agree.
It's definitely one of his strongest albums, writing-wise and vocal-wise.
But, IMO, it's a bit one-dimensional and lacking a clear emotional high or some sort of cathartic WOW moment.
It's basically a playlist of cool-ass retro inspired modern R&B tracks, but it definitely feels a bit "light", don't know how else to put it.
Still a very solid album, like a 7/10 or a 7.5/10 for me.

pure fantasy is still probably top 2 for me but i haven't gone back after 2nd listen yet
I came around
First day text from my sister: shouldve disappeared for longer
Yesterday: his best album

Lol real. I wasn’t gonna write it off instantly. Some of the best albums are growers
I’ve liked all his projects for the most part but something about this one is hitting different
Been playing it every morning

🎯
Feels like a love letter to r&b with no substantial contribution of its own
Given it a fair amount of spins and yea super disappointed even though there’s quite a lot to like here
I need somebody to explain what I’m supposed to be listening to on this lol
Love Brent but I’m struggling w this one
yea this is his best project
a lot of growth
didn't love vanilla sky at first, but now whewwww, i keep running it back

The length is just right
I listen to it at least twice every day. He really did deliver with this one
I literally don’t have a favorite since this album flows perfectly start to finish. I think this is his most consistent project to date.
this is great
i think why alot of people (myself included for a while) were disappointed is bcos this seems like the kind of album that an artists who drops every year would drop
in the grand scheme of his discography it doesn't really matter, but in this moment it just seems like a small album compared to the rest of his solo stuff
