Rumors saying there will be a Zelda direct soon
What we just got is the Zelda direct. I heavily doubt we get more gameplay footage, from now on they'll drop a final trailer around the 12th, outlet previews and lastly final reviews, which is more than enough for me at this point. Just showing me caveman abilities for 10 minutes was all i needed
The fact that the mini-map now shows specific coordinates wherever you go in this game, even how far up in the sky you are
I hope this will be used to some extent for treasure hunting or locating certain places. Perhaps you find some coordinates and you make your way there and find some secret or a Korok or what not.
Oh they definitely will have like a researcher talking about seeing some numbers on an ancient scripture and you'll have to realize those are coordinates and find the secret. But design wise i think they have implemented them because with the z-axis getting general directions from npcs or irl is a bit more difficult. Its easy to say idk go south-east from the lake hylia bridge, inside the forest and then when you see ruins turn to the left until you see a dragon head, since exploration is horizontal. Its way harder to do so when there are sky islands and underground caves, especially when many will be on top of eachother
The Z-axis definitely goes into the negative too so that seems to be a good indication that there will be underground caves

At this point theres so much proof that there will be underground areas thats its nonsense to even entertain the idea that there will not

So much so that they have their own designated mini map icons. Very exciting

I mean it's confirmed anyway dude litteraly went into a cave in the demo

Eggzactly, and with the presumption that there may also be some underground caves/exploration it would be really cool to use coordinates in order to locate the cave entrance or to figure out where you are (but this is just my speculation and some ideas I think would be neat).
Seen some people disappointed that the game doesn’t seem to have taken any influence from Elden Ring (whatever the f*** that means).
S*** literally came out last year.

I hope there’s a full on underground settlement.
Those are so underrated and underused and always so awesome.

Even so, how do they know that TotK hasn't taken any inspiration from Elden Ring? We haven't seen much from TotK and Nintendo have been very secretive and reserved in terms of how much they want us to see and know at this point. It's not like Nintendo even need to take much inspiration from Elden Ring. They already push boundaries and innovate.

No i mean like big underground areas, even below hyrule

I dont think its possible for the team to have taken inspo from ER since it released too late into development. Maybe next Zelda will though, since the devs do play other games for inspiration
Man i want to spoil the artbook so bad but i have to respect the ones who resisted looking at the leaks

Yeah, that is most likely the case BUT...what if delaying TotK from 2022 to 2023 was a result of some dope thing the Zelda team saw in Elden Ring that they wanted to implement in some way.
Same here
Copped the collectors TOTK, the pro controller, and the carrying case. I’m strapped w TOTK

What if Switch 2 comes out within a year from now?

If the cool thing is a cool sword or a cool cave then maybe, but no major stuff. I think they actually delayed the game to improve performance as much as possible, and to keep testing the new mechanics, so not to add content or mechanics

I will buy it as fast as possible and not think twice.
I’m the most diehard Nintendo fan i know lol

I think covid probably messed with the development too at least for a few months,

One simple request:
In game remap controls
The controls in botw are bad imo. Might be wayyy too used to Xbox / ps5 format but I want to move it to Nintendo b be the action / pick up button lol. Feels so f***ing weird using a as that button. I couldn’t tell you the ammount of times I’ve f***ed up menus in botw because of this
