Interesting that you said that about odyssey. I like odyssey and beat it but didn’t love it so much that I ever tried to 100% complete it. It didn’t move me like that. But maybe I’ll circle back to it one day and see how I feel, maybe start it from scratch and go deeper with it
You only really get into the meat of the game after you've beaten Bowser and start opening up the cosmic cubes on each level. If you didn't do that then you missed out on the best part of the game.

Honestly don’t remember. I think I played a little while post-bowser but not a ton. I’ll definitely re-play this game at some point in the coming year or two.
The standard for game pricing isn’t really based in any real logic imo. Just companies trying to reach the maximum amount they can get from consumers before consumers say nah that’s too expensive
Mfs acting like Nintendo invented greed. They're a capitalist company, just like Sony, take two, ea, etc. they always want to make more money. None of them have any justification for raising prices and they dont need any since people buy the games regardless.
Lets not give them any ideas
Well that applies to any art really if you make a masterpiece it's invaluable. I'd also gladly pay $200 for my favorite movie or album as well considering how much joy they have brought me. Luckily that's not how it works but with this next Zelda I'm not sure if we've ever seen more of a sure thing.

You dont need to 100% a game to love it btw, for me personally its a stress thinking i have to complete every checkmark in a game so i just do whatever i want until im satisfied, so maybe that mentality can work for you. After all odyssey can give plenty of enjoyment without collecting literally every moon. It helps that Nintendo doesnt have invasive achievements.

I agree. I never completed BOTW. I wanted to, but I think I got to around 95 or 100 shrines and then stopped. But I still consider BOTW one of my favorite games of all time. I never even considered getting all 900 korok seeds, lol. looking up their locations online and getting them all never appealed to me.

I agree that with art pricing can be subjective, i would pay the dreaded 80€ for totk because Zelda is my favorite gaming series, and i wouldnt say the same for a series i care less about. For example i was willing to pay 60€ for Metroid dread despite being a 2d 15 hours long game because i love the series so much and i find the game endlessly replayable, but i wouldnt spend 80€ for a Ratchet and Clank rift apart for example. But, as naive and highly improbable as it sounds, i think there has to be at some point some pushback against a systemic, continuous price increase from gen to gen, because in this economy its hard for me to justify spending 80€ for every game i'm interested in lol. Luckily its still somewhat easy to find good deals, even for Nintendo games (although to a lesser degree).

S*** felt like actual work lol
You'd have to pay me at least play tester rate to get all those f***ing seeds.
I did do all the shrines for the link of the wild fit.
Really hope the shrine equivalents in this game have some variety in the vibe/music. Got so sick of that song and aesthetic.

I stopped at like 300 seeds, was satisfied with how i explored the world and didnt feel the need to find them all, i still love the game. And with the reward for getting all 900 being literal s***, i think the devs were kinda playfully poking fun at this completionist mentality too lmao
Is there anyone on ktt2 who got 900 korok seeds, I wonder

I was close, got like 600 and gave up

Trust me the post Bowser phase of Odyssey is 1000 times more rewarding than hunting down f***ing korok seeds
Been a lifelong Zelda stan, Triforce tattoo and everything and even I was like
when BOTW started getting best game of all time acclaim. No best game of all time would put me through the korok poo hunt. It's still Ocarina/Majora/Waker for me.
Man, Nintendo is so f***ing annoying
You misspelled goated

Yea and I’m not trying to diss BOTW by pointing out the korok seeds. Putting in 900 of them is cool because you can stumble upon them everywhere, as you play the game as long or as short as you want. As we were saying, 100%ing a game isn’t like a requirement to being goated. I would rather them put in 900 seeds so you can stumble upon them in so many places, than to put in only 300 and make it easier to 100% it.
Locked in a $60 preorder with Best Buy last night, and now they’ve followed suit with Amazon taking the product page down

They dont force you to hunt them tho, you naturally stumble across more than enough of them in your travels to have a good amount of inventory unlocks. They’re just mini puzzles with a mini reward, I see no harm in them. They’re essentially just a collectible, if we had a game with large, traditional Zelda dungeons but no korok seeds people would complain that there’s nothing to do in the overworld.
What the game needs is both large dungeons but also to continue having simple, somewhat engaging side content like the korok seeds and the little temples to make traveling from area to area more than just fighting mobs until you reach your destination

Hoping the game has more towns as well.
Will download for free on my modded switch!
id mod my switch but my gf would be mad cause that would mean no online and stuff and i guess she uses it for animal crossing

That’d be good, if the idea is civilization is rebuilding itself now that Ganons “gone” then theoretically we should be seeing more towns and a livelier world

The amount of times I was exploring an out of the way, hard to access nook that I was sure would contain a rewarding treasure but just had another f***ing korok seed started to feel harmful. Elden Ring and Skyrim never did you like that.
Last two shots of the new trailer is gonna be Link standing on the edge of a cliff looking at the expansive world, cut to an over the shoulder close up as Link turns his head and looks at the camera and speaks for the first time,
“Let’s get this s***.”
Cut to black. Title card + chills.
