Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were good but not great so it had been 15 years since their last mastapiece (WW) before BOTW

Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are better than WW though. The dungeons aren't fantastic and the travel between islands was too ambitious for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Just got Ganon left to defeat from the main quest on BoTW. I'll probably go back after I pick up ToTK to finish the shrine quests, side quests, and dlc.

Yeah tbh I wasn't nearly as blown away with BOTW as everyone else but after I saw where they were going with this I could see it being the greatest Zelda as well. It the same magical turnover as Ocarina to Majora
