Truthfully I'm not a fan of every game being $70 so ultimately I'm against it.
But for this game specifically, if it is better than BOTW and gives me the same feelings, I'd pay $100.

with zelda and 3d mario its definitely way different than some random mid ass AAA game on console
The only time I will pay full price for games is Nintendo cause these cocksuckers only drop 20 dollars over 3 years
I bought a Switch just so I could play BotW, so I basically paid 400 bucks for the game. The Switch was just a means to an end. BotW was the main goal.
Also, video games have been around 60 bucks for as long as I can remember. Another 10 bucks is not going to stop me from playing my most anticipated game in the last 6 years.
Game price discussions arent that constructive really, everybody gives things different value. There's no right answer. Also watch dunkey's video on the matter!
The people actually working on these games don't really get royalties
Yeah but hundreds of people are working on this. You think they shouldn't get paid what their work is worth?

Let’s be real.
Only reason this game is $69.99 is to take advantage of Sony and Microsoft’s “next-gen tax”, even though the Switch is last-gen.
It’s the title they know everyone who owns one of their consoles wants, so they can do that.

Videogames been $60 since like the 90s
You think they haven't increased in dev time/ dev count/value/inflation at all since then?

Zelda botw already was at 70 outside of the US, this is just a US thing. Botw and smash are the only games priced at 70, totk will be the third. I will say that they could've made this decision and announced it earlier

Increase in dev time and all that, sure. But devs as a whole seem to be getting lazier and more exploitative by the second, so f*** that 70 dollar bullshit imo
Kinda really don't care as a consumer if the overhead company had niggas slaving over the game and it's a dud. With microtransactions
Not like the ppl modeling the blades of grass or NPC AI pathing are getting paid directly by my purchase anyway.

Well 1 thats not the case with this game and you know that
2 you literally are??? Videogame companies hire people with the expressed interest the game will sell and if it doesn't they downsize. That's how businesses work
3 if the game sells well / gets above average reviews in almost every major dev studio the devs/writers/etc get bonuses
I checked and don’t believe previous abilities are in this iteration. Does that make sense lore wise? Just would’ve like Link to use everything he has gotten this far, especially if the engine is being reused. Apologies if I’m wrong on any of this. I actually can not play this, so I’m just a spectator lol

We don't really know yet. Some scenes have link holding the sheikah slate (source of most abilities outside ones earned for clearing a dunegon) some have zelda holding it.
If she is the primary holder then it makes perfect sense he no longer has those abilities

Most of the development team works for Nintendo, they earn a salary like with any other job, they're not getting paid by number of sold units, they might get bonuses but yeah
I hope they are paid well tho they deserve it

Sold units = job security, more hires & higher wages tho

It's Nintendo tho... They're not short on money and if they actually use that as an excuse that's just being plain greedy with their staff

yeah but what I said still stands regardless of how much money they have.
They would reinvest revenue back into the business. They aren't going to do that if they aren't making money
