I struggle to really decide if they love each other or whatever, or ifs it’s some fear based codependency they’re not even friends really lol
All things considered they been thru alot and saved eachothers lives so idk, prolly some of both
Think walter was for real when he said jesse was like family to him, even hank said thats what it sounded like after hearing tye whole story lol
On a rewatch rn and reading all the wiki pages along with each ep
Was reading about how they set up the machine gun and forgot about it completely
after S2, they’d write episodes as they filmed them because it let the story be shaped by what the actors/directors were doing from episode to episode instead of having to write entire seasons in the writers room before anything was filmed
And with the machine gun they strongly considered just having it be a false-foreshadow and have it lead to nothing because they couldn’t think of anything as the show was getting towards the end. so they invented the nazi’s etc solely to have Walt in a position where he’d need to kill a whole bunch of people in one act
This is probably common knowledge but it’s an interesting bit of behind the scenes
it is crazy that they basically contrived a plot that did not feel contrived at all

Walt never loved Jesse. He blackmailed him into cooking with him from the get go, let alone all the stuff that transpired after that.
It always interested me how most of the promotional material for this show gave me the impression before watching that this was a show about two dudes joining forces and being true business partners, but the vast majority of this show has Jesse and Walt at odds with each other for one reason or another.

Yeah like they only know the absolute worst of each other, the peak of their amicable status is few reluctant sort of domestic moments where things are going as planned, at the same time any time Jesse starts gravitating towards some other figure Walter ain’t having it, im like what the hell is this…
I don't know if you can call it love but for 90% of the show jesse is literally the only person on earth considered untouchable for Walt. Dude ruined his relationship with gus and put his life on the line to save jesse, and even when jesse was spiraling outta control threatening to f*** everything up for everyone Walt refused saul and skylers pleas to kill him even after he tried to burn Walter's house down
Like Mike said "what is it with you two?"

Watch Meantime tonight
So if jesse was supposed to be written out after ep 9 and was rescued by the writers strike, does that mean Tuco was originally gonna blow his brains out with the ak47?
"In an interview, Vince Gilligan admitted that the writers' strike that shortened season 1 ended up benefiting the show. He'd planned for Walt's evil side to emerge in a shocking season finale. The strike led him to write the evolution much more gradually."
Hmmmm maybe Walt originally was gonna throw Jesse under the bus, get him murdered and resume business with Tuco
Going down the trivia list some of this s*** is nuts, imagine breaking bad without the gus vs Walt cat and mouse throughout season 3 and 4
"Gus Fring was originally supposed to appear in only three or four episodes. Giancarlo Esposito was asked to return for seven episodes in season three. Esposito refused to return unless he could appear in more episodes. He ended up appearing in 11 episodes in the third season."
"A plot line was written for the third season in which Walt visits a South American d*** lord in prison to convince him to help him put Gus Fring out of business. It was discarded because the writers couldn't figure out how Walt would be able to connect with the d*** lord."
Sam Jackson's a trip I'm kinda shocked they denied him
"Samuel L. Jackson showed up unannounced during filming on the Pollos Hermanos set one day, dressed in his Nick Fury outfit from The Avengers (2012). Both productions were happening on the same studio lot, and Jackson wanted to be an extra during the scene being filmed. The producers denied his request to appear as Nick Fury on the show."
Dat kick to the ribs
"During the fight scene between Jesse and Tuco, Aaron Paul ended up getting knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion."
Coulda had more of the GOAT
"Raymond Cruz's Tuco Salamanca would have been retained for the entire run of season 2 if Cruz hadn't landed a major role on the TV series The Closer (2005)."
Lmfao I love Hector he a real og but that woulda been so weird, him and his bell bossing the twins around, good choice Vince!
"On the Breaking Bad (2008) podcast, Creator Vince Gilligan revealed that Hector was initially intended to become the main antagonist from Season 3 on. However, they decided to make Gus the main antagonist for the whole series."

Crazy how they wrote Mike only because Bob couldnt make it on set that day too.
Cant imagine the shows without Mike
Lowkey one of the best scenes in the whole show…
Jesse the GOAT
just watched this ep last night
and then he goes home saying to skylar ''my only birthday present was from a guy who had a gun to my head a week ago...you'll come around too''

Walt’s a whiny little c***, but you gotta admit, he’s cold as f***
