Have been rewatching the “big three” the last 2 months, now that I’m on BB, I’ll say that it feels less episodic than Sopranos or the Wire it’s more methodical like “chapters”

Breaking Bad has always been like a 3-act story, not episodic or seasonal:

    Seasons 1-2: indie dealers
    Seasons 3-4: Pollos Hermanos
    Season 5: peak and fall

Do yall think that even with the jealousy and resentment, that Walter woulda just continued to play the good soldier for Gus had Jesse not flew off the handle and caused all the trouble and chaos that almost got them killed?

Cuz if walter really was thinking about his family's safety he woulda just let jesse get himself killed and continued to work in peace with Gayle

Didn't that come after walter crossed him? Yeah at first he was ready to feed walter to the salamancas whenever his contract was up but Once he killed off the Salamanca twins there was really no necessity for it and he seemed to respect Walter at that point....then again him having a Dea agent brother def made him a loose end so you prolly right lol

But he did agree to fire Gayle and hire jesse so that kinda goes counter to the "learn Walter's recipe so we can get rid of him" scheme gus later went with

even when they first agreed to work together gus was upset that walter insisted on jesse, partially because jesse was an addict, but also because he already had gayle ready to put in work

Him agreeing to let jesse in the lab was pretty wild, he Musta really liked Walt at that point to kick poor Gayle to the curb like that

Dude had a full blown Meltdown and depression over realizing gus was in control after saving his life and offering him more money like it was the end of times
