Its a cheap tactic that blocks the fighters vision. All they see is your glove or your arm then boom u get hit by their strong hand. Adrien Broner did it the most. Broner used to literally just have his hand out even without holding to block their vision.

Katie Taylor got beat up, don't see how she won. I had 96-93 Serrano, might need to rewatch though. But CLEARLY we see why Katie refused 3 minute rounds. She would've been meme'd early in the fight.

I think Serrano really thought she won off the 5th rd alone and kinda went to point fighting cause I think she felt like she gave Katie her best shots in the 5th and if she didn’t go down in that rd,she wasn’t trying to force the issue. Even tho Katie stayed alive and well after the 5th,it would’ve been fair to give Serrano the split or call it a draw.

If it was 3 min rds,we would’ve seen a brutal TKO victory for Amanda in the 5th.

Completely agree here. She took her foot off the gas to coast, that was a horrible decision.

Yep,that’s the only I see a 2nd fight having the same or even more interest then this one. Their built for 3 mins/12rds,Serrano is the tougher,harder hitting fighter. Katie might be the better boxer but Serrano is nowhere near a novice plus she has all those attributes.

She shouldn’t have coasted for sure tho,Taylor was still dazed in the 6th and Serrano was just toying with her.

Katie is "technically" the better boxer sure, but that doesn't mean much when Serrano ate everything she threw at her and is a great boxer in her own right. She was implementing her gameplan until she stepped off the gas.

Serrano wasn't phased at any point. She only got cut cause of a headbutt lol. Serrano is probably the biggest puncher in women's boxing p4p since Ann Wolfe. Katie was getting buzzed even by Amanda's jab.

Great fight. I don't think Katie will be so eager to brawl in the rematch tho, probably gonna be on her bike more often.

Fight got me feeling bad for Shields, cause atm there's no potential fight that can generate this kind of interest for her since Cecelia lost.

Savannah Marshall will get handled imo. She's finishing chicks sure but Shields is too sharp for her. Probably a cruise decision like the Hammer fight.

Exactly,when Serrano worked Katie into that corner and went to work,she was a goner. Katie’s head was snapping back off every clean punch from Serrano. Judges literally scored those last 5 rds off of how Katie kept her composure and how Serrano didn’t seize the moment.

Yea,just talking about that fight makes me excited for the next one. That really was a high level boxing match from those two women.

Man,Shields has the heart of a lion,no one’s just gonna finish her like that. That’s just something boxing nerds want to see,they want to see Shields put down,it’s not happening. Just like you said,she’ll be the sharper,faster,always one step ahead fighter against Marshall.

And yeah,boxing is firing on all cylinders this yr,great matchups on top great matchups. If they can make Crawford/Spence for the fall,this yr is goated. But as far as Canelo-Bivol goes,the promotion for it is literally “Canelo might be in over his head this time forreal” he’s being setup for a loss to look ok but Canelo is a competitor so don’t think he’s not gonna come hard.

That size and length of Bivol tho,mixed with his skill and Canelo’s unknowns at LHW,makes this fight super intriguing.

A lot of people saying Canelo is going to go body shot crazy on Bivol and he won’t be able to do much about it because his body defense isn’t that good. He needs to be on the move at all times on Saturday,it’ll be a big plus if can fight going backwards but I don’t think that’s Bivol style.

I think Bivol and the body shots is more of an unknown, we really haven't seen him get hit to the body like that.

I think his footwork & jab would be able to keep him in the green all night. His inside fighting is weak as hell though, so he better stay on the outside.

Haven't really made a prediction but no outcome would surprise me other than a Bivol stoppage.

I see a Canelo MD with Bivol looking good,popping his jab off in the first half of the fight but with Canelo getting his shots off too. The second half would be when Canelo’s big fight experience/stamina will kick in. Bivol needs to avoid taking too much damage in the 1st half because Canelo will be in his guard throwing heavy blows.

It all comes down to if Bivol fights a one-dimensional,0 adjustment fight where he goes from “equal” to “pummeled” within12RDs. His boxing skills will be there but Canelo is gonna test his toughness.
